"Dave was wonderful!!!! We missed our train so we took a taxi not knowing the taxi could not drive into the gated neighborhood. Dave came to get us and carried our luggage up the stairs!! Which was a feat in itself! He was kind and so very helpful giving us tips on where to eat and what to see! Even sending us links to the train for day passes! The property was clean and beautiful!!! Wish we could have stayed longer!!! Highly recommended!!! "

"My friend and I had an amazing trip while staying at the little pirate house. Its location was close enough to get to everything but off the path enough for privacy and quiet at night. We loved Monterosso and all of Cinque Terre and especially enjoyed learning how the history of the dates related to the property. "This place is a gem! Not sure what we loved most: the babbling brook outside the home, the nooks and crannies, the multiple layers of patio, the lemon and orange trees, or the cozy interior. Be sure to let your parking attendants know that you are staying in Villa Smith, so they can drop you off instead of taking you all the way into Vernazza. "Every thing was just ok. Rooms are small and elevator is really small hot water was very limited. The staff was very helpful as my husband forgot his phone and the staff were very helpful to get it delivered to us while we were in Rome"

"Beautiful boutique hotel... gorgeous old elevator, nice staff, INCREDIBLE SHOWER. Maybe the best I've ever been in. Great restaurants nearby... my only warning is that walking to the port or the old city center you have to go through some real rough looking areas. First time I was ever scared in Italy. That was a bummer."

"Good hotel in a great location with a private beach club that overlooks the public beach in Portofino. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good. The building and facilities were older, but that seems to come with Portofino. There was an issue with the room safe that the staff fixed, although the television in the room continued to freeze and did not appear to be fixable. Overall we had a good experience and would recommend the hotel on the understanding that the price reflects that fact that everything is more expensive than normal in Portofino."

"The hotel is a well maintained classic older hotel. The lobby and seating area are extensive and very comfortable. Breakfast in their dining room was very good. The walk to the center takes about 10-15 minutes, but it is a pleasant walk. We were on the 4th floor with a balcony and the view was excellent."
