Jughandle State Natural Reserve Hotels

"The room was as clean as it could be, and the laundry seemed clean. However, that is the only nice thing I can say. The rooms are falling apart, the TV did not work, and the whole place was littered with trash and cigarette butts were EVERYWHERE. Not to mention the parking lot filled with homeless people and drug addicts all night, yelling and cussing. Finally, in three days, no one even bothered to pick up any of the dog crap from the pathetic patch of gravel they called the pet area. Oh yeah, and the pool is a construction zone (that looks like amateurs are doing the work), so you can enjoy power saws and nail guns starting at around 8 am. I have been all around the world and stayed at shady places in third-world countries; this was the worst motel I have ever been to. "

"Wife and I stayed here for one night on our road trip and was probably our favorite stay. Got to explore the city and stayed right on the beach which made for a perfect sunset watch & sunrise walk. Staff was quick to check us in and helpful with where to go eat, very kind. Room and restroom were great size & very clean. Parking lot was a good size, not applicable to me but did notice EV charging. Overall very comfortable stay, would recommend staying here with confidence."

"Clean room, great breakfast. Check in process was very annoying however. They make you do a bunch of digital crap and scan credit card, etc. The motel we stayed at the next gave me a paper to sign when I showed up that took about 10 seconds. Would love to give 5 star review but can't from the very inconvenient check in process "

"We left our food in the take out bag it came in, picked up but not to fill the trash. Some of the food did end up in the trash. Both the trash can and bag of food, as well as the chair and table were completely covered in ants! Kind of a bummer to wake up to at 5:30am!"

"I LOVE this place, and come here regularly on my days off! I drive up the coast to enjoy their king soaking tub rooms. The tubs are to die for, spacious and clean with a little balcony overlooking a pond.... in this price range, you cant beat it. Fall asleep to the spunds of the frogs and wake up to the sounds of the birds. Yes, there is highway noise but if you tune into the other sounds of nature it just goes away. Wonderful staff, always go above and beyond when i come to town. And they are pet friendly!"

"You get what you pay for. We got yelled at in the first 5 min by the person in the room next to us who said they were the General Manager. They said our young children were not allowed to run around inside. We were in first floor suite. The floors turned our socks black and were not swept. No paper towels on the paper towel roll, the sponges on the sink were filthy, only about a tablespoon of dish soap left in the bottle, only 3 towels for a party of 6, no shampoo or conditioner in dispensers in bathroom and the dispensers were broken,the lamp switch in our room was broken so you couldn't turn it on, the overhead light blinked constantly, the views out most the windows were of piles of junk. We didn't want to bother the office after getting yelled at so we bought a broom, paper towels, dish soap and toilet paper. We had luckily brought our own dish towels, wash cloths, clorox wipes and a couple bath towels. The location was close to glass beach and the skunk train. The sheets appeared to be clean, the beds were OK. We made the best out of it but would probably not stay there again."
