"A great location to stop after a long drive. Very convenient. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spotless with lovely locally sourced products. Whilst we didn't eat dinner here it was busy and there us a children's play area too. We ate at the Hare & Hounds; a very pleasant 20 minute walk away. There is plenty of car parking spaces at the Gilpin. The breakfast is very basic. We would definitely stay again but not opt for the breakfast."

"A very spacious, beautifully done out cottage with the most amazing views. 3 good size bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with lovely powerful showers. Very well equipped with everything you need in the kitchen for a self catering holiday. Lovely hosts who have very kindly agreed to post back items I have left behind. Perfectly situated to explore all of the lakes. We will definitely be back!"

"Not very clean in the room and toilet,curtains was hanging off the runner's. There are 2 main roads each side of the hotel and it was very noisy.when booking they did say they didn't have a car park,but it was ok to use the hotel across the road,there isn't an hotel across the road.the only parking was a cricket club 500mtrs plus down the Rd to park at"

"Checked in on the hottest day ever recorded , room was clean and very well furnished. Staff weee really friendly and helpful . Great restaurant and bar . Didn’t go to the gym and pool this time. Well worth staying if you are exploring the lakes."
