"Great location, walking distance from town , free parking, unfortunately rooms in poor condition, we had change rooms after two hours a pipe was leaking above our bathroom, We were moved to another room , the windows wouldn't working, no hot water for shower , electrical work for heater dangerous, carpet dirty , poor room service, our cups were not changed in three days , the other guests seemed to have been placed there by social services "
"I’ve been visiting the Clifton hotel since I was a teenager, originally with my parents, and over the decades have stayed on lots of trips and mini breaks! The latest custodians have done an amazing job in both refurbishment and conserving this classic old hotel!!
They give you a walk welcome and are genuinely happy to see you.
The breakfast was lovely every morning, plenty of options and choices
Visited the Marco Pierre White steak house in the hotel as well and the food was perfectly cooked and service was superb
Well done to the new owners it truly was a pleasure to visit you, we will definitely be back very soon "
"Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental but good selection and plenty of. Stayed in premium double room, which was clean but nothing was premium unfortunately. Flat pillows need throwing, bed you can feel the springs, furniture handles falling off when opening draws, shower towel rails broken, shower had no pressure just trickling out and running down the head. Furniture needs updating or fixing."
"The cabin was beautifully curated and clean. It felt cozy and welcoming as soon as we entered. Pat & Joy were wonderful and friendly - Joy came to greet us when we checked in and made sure we were comfortable. She walked us through the property and told us about how everything worked. The patio and outdoor sofa was lovely for our coffee in the morning sunshine. We will definitely be going back soon. 10/10"
"Having seen other reviews, we were pleasantly surprised to see that whilst the main areas of the hotel look a little outdated and in need of renovation, our room was clean and we were given a sea-view room. However, the toilet did not flush at all and the shower did not work; we only discovered this as we were getting ready for check out. There also appeared to be a potential asbestos risk with the flaking textured coating on the ceiling of the wardrobe with cracks in the ceiling and dust and debris on the shelf."
