Gene our host was very welcoming and kept us informed. Check in and out was easy. The condo was as described. Cooked Thanksgiving dinner and could have used some measuring cups. Other than that everything was great.The oceanfront view was amazing!! The water was only steps away. Would definitely be open to coming back again.

The host was very communicative, which was very helpful given the weather and road conditions during my stay. The view and beach access are perfect and exactly what I was looking for. Lugging the luggage up three short flights of stairs and then one long one once inside the unit was worth the view, but pack as light as you can to avoid straining yourself before you reach the main floor! The bed was softish-firm, a perfect blend for almost everyone. The sofa bed, however, was a huge disappointment. The sofa was super comfortable during the day, but when folded out, the upper portion didn't lay flat and at the foot of the unit, the frame drooped a bit. I would honestly say that this unit was good for 2 people, not 4. The unit was also very clean and the only remark I would make is that we poured wine into two regular wine glasses and noticed there was some kind of gel-like substance on the bottom of the glasses; so we dumped the wine and cleaned the glasses to be sure. I think that is a wise thing to do anyway, and a dishwasher is in unit so it is convenient to wash what you will use if you are nervous about that kind of thing. I am not sure if the water heater went out, but the last day there, we took cold showers. The days before everything was fine. I would love a couple of towel hooks in the bathroom. A nice surprise was the engraved wine glasses we were gifted at the end of our stay. I'd stay again and recommend to others. Just no to the sofa. :)

Great 1 bedroom condo. This place has everything you need and is in a fantastic location and walking distance to possibly the best diner in OBX. This place was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed this turtle-themed condo, even though our week coincided with wild Nor'easter winds and cloudy skies. The stormy views from the balcony were beautiful in their own way, and we did finally see two colorful sunrises. The location of this condo is very convenient--an easy drive to all parts of the Outer Banks, and grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants are all nearby. The condo's furnishings met all of our needs. Communication with the host before and during our stay was always prompt and informative.

Check in was super easy. The view was just as described. The minute we walked in we felt our tension slip away. The weather didn’t always cooperate but being able to watch the waves whenever we wanted more than made up for it. The condo was very clean and spacious with great access to many attractions!

Great location and amazing views with walk out beach access! Host was great. We had a super short trip but central to eveeything, so we were able to do everyything that we wanted.

Overall we had a great time. The condo was clean and beautiful. The front door was a little tricky but we got the hang of it. We brought our own sheets,pillows and towels so the cleaning staff shouldn't have too much trouble.

Amazing !

My boyfriend and i had a very nice stay here at Turtle Tides ! although we stayed out of season, the property was clean and gorgeous and the views from the deck did not disappoint ! we had a little trouble getting in and Gene was very attentive and took the time to talk us through getting in quickly and kindly. Gene’s wife also made us some beautiful glasses to remember our stay! Overall 10/10, we’ll be booking again !

Wonderful Getaway

Although it was winter weather, the break from home was wonderful. By far, one of the easiest vacations I have ever taken! I would love to visit again in the summer time or early Fall.

Wonderful winter time get away

We had such a relaxing time staying at Turtle Tides. Nothing can beat the view and the sound of the ocean waves from the deck. The hosts had a lot of great information available for us - many great restaurant recommendations. Off season at the beach is so magical. I really enjoy the quiet time to reflect at the end of the year.

Great place on the ocean and centrally located

The condo is decorated so nicely in the beach/turtle theme and is a very pleasant place to stay! We loved having coffee in the morning on the deck while watching the sunrise over the ocean and being able to walk right out onto the beach. The view is wonderful. The location is centrally located to explore both North and South parts of the outer banks and within walking distance to many restaurants. The owner was very responsive, and checked in several times over our short 3 days to to be sure all was perfect for our stay. We can't wait to bring family back next time! Be aware that the there are a fair amount of stairs to climb to get in, so those with mobility issues may have trouble

Home away from home

Turtle Tides was absolutely fantastic! Beautiful views and a amazing place to stay. Wonderful communication with the owner. We were very happy with location and private access to the beach. Would 100% recommend to anyone wishing to live the coastal lifestyle for your vacation.

Great week long retreat from the grind of life!

Turtle Tides is a great 3rd floor penthouse for two. We enjoyed the full kitchen, direct beach access from our private deck and the great views. No need to walk down the stairs to the beach, just walk out and enjoy a hot cup of tea listening to the ocean waves from the balcony. Also Gene’s picks for places to eat are spot on! Will be going back for sure!
