A good one night stay

Check in was fine - although arriving on a busy Sunday meant parking was very difficult. The room wasn’t enormous - but fine for a couple and well equipped. Perhaps fewer cushions would be a good idea. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and modern with good shampoo, shower gel etc. Breakfast was excellent - a really good choice of food and well presented and tasty.

Lovely welcoming place

Great location, lovely staff, great beers and food. Was made to feel very welcome. Shower screeches unless you turn it to scalding hot. No power sockets next to the bed to charge my phone/iPad.

Highly recommended country pub

After a bad flight etc we felt very tired and harassed when we arrived at the Dog. The staff were so helpful and tho it was a very busy night for them, immediately found us a table for dinner. Beautiful old pub, wonderful food, my husband loved the Cheshire Ale, and our room was spacious, comfortable, pleasant and sooo quiet. Very good breakfast and strong coffee - yay! It’s in very beautiful peaceful countryside . We loved The Dog.

A pleasant stay, I will come back again!

The Dog at Peover is in a nice quiet area and so there are some great tranquil walks you can take in the immediate area surrounding the hotel. The hotel itself does seem to be quite busy in the evenings regarding the restaurant and bar area. This is to be expected as the food served here is very good! The wifi was reasonably fast most of the time, with speeds in and around 20Mbps when I checked. The room itself was okay, the floorboards were very squeaky which did get somewhat annoying very quickly. I do not believe many people were staying when I was staying and so I am not sure how loud this is coming from other rooms. There is ample parking available for guests and the staff are very friendly.
