  • An Gearasdan was fully renovated to the highest standards in 2007 and the following year won the prestigious RIAS award for which the owners are justly proud. The house can comfortably sleep 8/10 - it is large enough to accommodate 2 families or a large group of friends. It is fitted with contemporary furnishings and has a fresh decor. Downstairs accommodation consists of a large cloakroom, utility room with washing machine, tumble drier, fridge freezer, a w.c and shower room. Leading off the hallway are 4 double bedrooms (two have twin beds, one has king and one has superking) (one en suite), a family shower-room, and separate TV lounge including a small double sofa bed. Upstairs is bright and open planned with a fully equipped kitchen with large fridge, ovens and microwave. There is a well stocked library of interesting books and family games, and a dining table to seat 10. Three large sofas surround a modern Jotul log burning stove. The house offers every comfort necessary to make your holiday complete.

A beautiful house in a fabulous location. Also the local pub is brilliant, great ales and friendly locals. It was a perfect spot to relax and explore some of Scotland. The Isle of Skye ferry is on 5 minutes away, a beautiful isle to explore, with some delicious distilleries.Thank you

Friends accommodation for wedding

We booked this house for our friends and then our family to stay in for our wedding in Glenelg. Everyone was really happy with the accommodation and facilities. The views are incredible and the things provided are very thoughtful and give you everything you need for a stay in the area.

We found An Gearasdan to be a wonderfully comfortable, warm and modern house. In the most stunning location with views from the house both restful and inspiring. Lovely walks locally and fabulous scenic drives when venturing further afield.

Stunning location and a great house for a group of family and friends

Great beach walks and trips over to Skye on the Ferry. A lovely shop and pub in the village - and even a nearby brewery, which we visited a few times too. Plenty of Cycling/ paddle boarding done - and loads of wildlife to see. We will definitely go back.

We have stayed in An Gearasdan on a number of occasions and have been visiting Glenelg for over 24 years. The property is lovely, very well set out and perfect for groups and a couple of dogs. The view down the sound is spectacular and the locals are lovely. We cannot fault the house or location and hope to return for many more years.

An Gearasdan is a fabulous property in a stunning location. Glenelg is one of our favourite places to visit & this is the first time we have stayed at this property and we will definitely return. My family and I spent 5 nights at this beautiful house.The location is lovely with amazing views across to Isle of Skye.From booking to check in the experience was good as the host responded to messages quickly through the website. Facilities within the property are good with lots of extras for families with small children The village itself has a small shop and a local pub. I would highly recommend having dinner at the pub, food is really good.Ferry trip over to Skye was also a really interesting experience.

Really nice stay in a beautiful place!

The house is in a beautiful location, looking out on the Isle of Skye. The famous local ferry in Glenelg is perfect to use to explore Skye. Glenelg is peaceful. The house suits a group splendidly but also great for a small family. The kitchen is well equipped and laundry can be done, just buy or bring some detergent. Very enjoyable!

A very welcome break

Our fourth stay here and we just love it. The scenery and tranquility is fantastic. The house itself offers everything we could need and the local pub is so close. We did some paddle boarding this year which was new to some of us. Apart from that we did some walking, geo-cashing -again, new for some of us - and general lazing about. Another great week and next year to look forward to !

A great property with views to die for! Kay was super helpful and great and speedy with answering queries!House had everything we needed! Local shop excellent! Pub great for night off from the cooking! A wonderful time was had by all! A lovely remote getaway with amazing mountains and hills! Just be careful of the ticks when walking through bracken and long grass! Ticks and Midges... A small price to pay for such a lovely time in the Highlands!Thanks Kay!

A Wonderful Week Away

This was our third time at An Gearasdan. We find the house to be ideal for housing us and all the kids who are now grown up. The house has everything you could possibly need for a week away. The kitchen is well equipped with various sizes of pans, bowls etc., lots of cutlery as well as food mixer, coffee maker, roasting tins etc. A short stroll to the pub for a lovely meal and the beach is close by for picnics.
