"We had an excellent stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel Kawaramachi.The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel was in a great location, the breakfast was delicious, but above all the staff were excellent. They gave us great tips on where to eat. such as the puffy pancake restaurant and an excellent sushi restaurant. But the really amazing thing is they helped my sister-in-law recover her phone, which she had left at a train station near Tokyo. It was amazing the effort they went to. I can't imagine this happening in another country. Japan is truly a beautiful place, the landscape, the pristine mountain villages and super clean cities, the trains, the food, the culture. But the helpfulness and kindness of the people is what is really impressive. Shoutout to Kana Kimoto especially for helping us out."

"What a great hotel with a truly superb breakfast. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants and a few metres to the main Kyoto train station (buses, subway and trains) and still very quiet. Small rooms, as expected throughout Japan. The spa is lovely, the gym is convenient and there is laundry on site. Two thumbs up!!"
