“We have stayed here quite a few times now and it is outstanding every time. You always feel welcome. The staff are always friendly and helpful ! The rooms are spot on. The food is local and homemade and you can tell but the quality is next level ! ”

“Wonderful place to stay and would stay again. Only negative things were that the room was very warm (no instructions on how to turn the heating down) and there was a really bright green (escape route?) light above the door which was on through the night and so made it difficult to fall asleep. Both issues easily remedied. My companion had no issues with her room so would thoroughly recommend!”

“Alice who owns the property goes above and beyond what she needs to do she knows every guest by there 1st name had a meal in the Cantonese restaurant (which alice runs) on Friday and the food was 1st class breakfast there a choice a good choice all the staff are very friendly beds very comfortable and clean , showers nice and hot decor could do with a up date but to be honest I wasn’t there to look at the decor there was a group of 6 and we would definitely go back ”

“What a find in a beautiful area. Short trip off the A1 and absolutely stunning pub with rooms. Rooms were great, comfortable clean and has everything you will need for a good stay. Dinner was really tasty. Didn’t stop for breakfast but can only imagine how nice it would be. Would definitely recommend and would stay next time I am in the area ”

“Plenty of parking next to hotel room. In my case I could see my motorcycle from the hotel window. Large well appointed clean room with excellent en suite. Lovely views over surrounding hills. Cozy pub with real fire. Good full English breakfast and friendly staff. All good thanks and would stay again. ”

“Ideally placed in the centre of Knaresborough, we were welcomed warmly. The room was lovely with a generous bathroom attached. Plenty of teabags, coffee and hot chocolate sachets and fresh milk was kept in a small fridge. The chocolate was a nice touch alongside the complementary biscuits. It was very quiet and the breakfast was delicious. We will certainly visit again. ”

“Our stay at the Golden Fleece was great! Easy check-in, lovely room. Food in the evening was great but we didn't have breakfast so can't comment. Easy walkable distance to James Herriot’s house. Parking very easy and felt secure! All in all very nice.”
