The lindal hotel has been closed for about 3 months at least according to neighbours. It is surrounded by building hoardings etc so no access to it at all. Neighbours say people are still booking rooms there because it is still on the websites etc. DO NOT book it.
I want my momey back because i booked it and the place is shut down and your still taking my money.Who do i contact to get a refund as i had to pay again for another hotel
The electricity failed on the first night and I decided not to bother with breakfast in the morning. The following morning the only member of staff who could be found on site at breakfast time was drunk and was clearly in no condition to stand, let alone prepare a meal. Some other guests had their cars blocked in the car park, and they said they would try to get a refund (not from Expedia but from a different site, I think). The main guy on reception was perfectly pleasant, when he was there, so it's not as if the whole experience was bad, but it is disappointing.
I stop in different hotels every night of the week, all over the country, some really bad. Only this hotel has been bad enough for me to bother to write a review.
•bathroom looked like it was under demolition/ war zone
•there was no towels in the room, luckily I had one with me
• room was freezing and all I was provided with was a electric heater that would only of warmed me up if I'd of made love to it
• No remote for the tv, which couldn't be turned on without a remote
• No Wi-Fi in the room, even though it's states on hotels.com and on the hotels website that it does
• I have never slept on a more uncomfortable bed, I almost gave up and went to work at 3am
• At breakfast I got as far as making a cup of coffee and realising the milk was off. Before telling the lady in the kitchen to leave it.
I arrived at 8pm on a Sunday and nobody was around that evening or in the morning to deal with my issues
The hotel was an insult to the term
No service, front door always locked so needed always to buzz the caretaker no matter what
Very old, heater didn’t work for few days, no hot water tobadin, bar advertised not open, breakfast took forever and rarely open for 7 as meant tobe
I had a really bad night, could not sleep the whole night. There was no heating in the room. Manager supplied a portable heater, that didn’t even heat up the room. There was no soap in the shower. The shower was broken. Bed was unstable , constantly moving with noises. In fact I had a really awful stay in the hotel. And also room smelled, so stinky. Hotel was in a real poor state.

Door lock broken people walking in
My door was unable to lock. When I was in bed a lady pushed the door open asking where this man was. I then couldn’t relax worried anther person would come into my room
Filthy not fit to use as a room..so tiny...I will be making enquiries to get my money back...rude and lazy receptionist who I found lying in the bar area on a sofa..shower filthy..carpet stained and torn..could make not a cup of tea as kettle was dirty inside...I want to be reimbursed for this room....cannot believe I had to pay £50 if I had paid cash I would have moved to another hotel
Gammelt hotel med mug på væggen, tapet hang ud fra væggen. Total lille bruseniche. En nedslidt seng.

Simple but cost-effective
Good, cost-effective, no-frills hotel for a single overnight stay, though I wouldn't've wanted to stay for more than that. Room was freezing on arrival – the heater could've been put on an hour or two before I got there to make it more welcoming. And WiFi was pretty much non-existent in my room, which was on the top floor. Fortunately 4G was quite strong. People who don't sleep as soundly as me may be disturbed by the constant traffic noise through the single-glazed windows. It's main redeeming features were friendly, welcoming staff; very close proximity of supermarkets and restaurants; and a pretty good shower (though you will need to bring your own wash stuff – there's nothing complementary besides hand gel).

Value For Money
For £40, it did what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. Off road parking, Wi-Fi, cooked breakfast, clean room, comfortable beds, excellent TV and a kettle. The beverage tray hadn't been replenished but that was quickly rectified with a visit to reception. Yes there were a few negatives, like poor water pressure in the shower in order to keep warm water, and the bar wasn't open despite being included in the information. But these didn't effect our stay which was only for one night. So if just wanting a budget hotel with the basic, you can't go wrong.

Not bad
It's a rickety old building and the rooms are basic. The place was clean (and I saw several rooms) but don't expect anything luxurious. I'd recommend it to those who will be spending most of the day out, and are looking for a simple, cheap place to sleep and shower.
The carpet was wet because of overflow from blocked drain of shower cubicle. Although my room was changed on protest the next day but the receptionist or the management had no insight into the health and safety issues as the room was going to be allocated to someone else in the same condition.
Very poor condition.
The staff did their best with what they had.

I booked to stay here on 11th May as most other hotels in the area were booked up. Rated at 2* and for £65 I was not expecting luxury but even in a £20 room there are basic requirements of service and cleanliness. The greeting at this place after a short wait outside the doors before being let in was terrible, no manners, no offer to help with bags, nothing. Then there is the cleanliness factor, it didn't even look like the bathroom had been cleaned, the carpet evidently hadn't with dirt all over it. Floor boards were broken and filled with dirt, marks all up the walls, scribbles all over the desk. I went back down, handed in the keys and left. I would rather sleep in the car than here.
Probably best to read reviews about this hotel !,as I would struggle to describe it without being rude, the only thing I can say is that the bed linen and towels were clean !
Nothing I can say will describe the poor conditions I experienced staying at The Lindal. Shabby does not describe the decor...squalor might be more apt. The bed was a squeaking wreck topped off by a mattress full of what felt like boulders. The TV worked...until it rained. The shower dribbled and the wall paper hanging off everywhere. I guess it was trying to escape. Don't stay in this place. In my opinion it should not be trading. The trades and descriptions act needs to be enforced as this doss house should not be called a Hotel.
