Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to it.This rental was by far one of my all time favorites from VRBO!!We booked both this property (Red Door Lodge) and its sister property next door (Yellow Door Lodge) for my son's wedding. We wanted as many of our relatives as possible to stay with us. The Red Door Lodge was the "main" get-together house. “The house is poorly maintained. The house is covered in mold, steps to enter house deplorable, garage doors missing, window sills dirty, mattress so old topper has been added. Linens, blankets and towels old. Scaled coffee maker full of old grinds. Chairs in dining room wobbly. Recliner in living gets stuck open. Ceiling fan blades with edged dust mounds. “Excellent host, very accommodating and quick to respond. Very clean house with plenty of space, ample parking access to dock and navigable water to Sapelo sound. Quiet neighborhood with minimal traffic for a peaceful getaway. Kitchen is nice and well supplied with items for food prep even though we mostly ate at local restaurants. Basically it checks all of our boxes and we plan to return.”
