In many ways this is a simple no frills property. ENTRANCE: Our keys did not work to unlock the main entrance door to the apartment. We got keys that only unlocked the external door that gives access to the apartment via the 2nd bedroom. If anyone was staying in that room with us it would have been very awkward to enter & exit the apartment through that door. Certainly not a good experience each time we entered & exited the apartment. Very disappointing arrangement. SECURITY: I was uncomfortable with the security of the property. Not sure if there were security cameras. May have seen 1 or 2. Certainly not adequate for the parking lot, apartments as well as beach front access. BASIC ACCOMMODATION: The accommodation is too basic for the price being charged. The kitchen utensils were not properly placed in the kitchen. Utensils were inadequate. Felt like were were using odds & ends of cutlery & dishes vs proper sets. The knife set was old & outdated. CLEANLINESS: There was sand on both kitchen counters. It is possible that the cleaners did a quick clean before we arrived. Reported this when we arrived, however was ignored. NO WIFI, NO TV: We had no wifi & TV for 5 of our 7 day "vacation".. Both the WIFI ID & Password given in our arrival documents were incorrect. No one at RVA saw the importance of communicating this critical info to us. Left several messages with the 800-number given by RVA Resort Vacations, re the problem we were having with the WIFI however no one contacted us. Called the RVA staff Christy Ward Sales Reservations Supervisor via the number provided, left messages however she never returned our calls, not even to issue an apology for not getting back to us earlier, although we indicated that our mater was both urgent & important. We were told by a director that the staff were were calling was "OFF" on Sunday & Monday. I guess they though that this was a reasonable explanation from being unreachable & for not returning our calls. Felt like our attempt to reach out to them re: the WIFI matter was completely ignored. 2-1/2 days to the end of our stay when the WIFI and Television matter was finally resolved there was no acknowledgment of the inconvenience we suffered, no apology and even a trivialising of what we had to endure for those 5 days without WIFI & Television. DISHES: Had no way to verify that the dishes, pots, pans and kitchen utensils were sanitised before our arrival. This is a basic pandemic protocol.
