「My daughter and I spent “2” nights at this beautiful hotel. Everything was perfect. We received outstanding assistance from staff members and the breakfast menu had a wide assortment of delicious hot and cold food choices. Wishing to thank all staff members for a wonderful stay and experience!」

「The hotel itself was okay. Our room was clean but not in the best shape. There were some stains on our sheets but the staff came and replaced them. Our toilet didn't work and when it got clogged they had to give us a new room because there was no maintenance staff to fix it. The bathroom had no fan and b/c of that the ceiling tile was droopy and a little gross. The shower handle was very loose and we had to be careful with it. 「I was there 4 nights and the room was not cleaned once」

「Some of the staff was not customer service friendly.」

「Breakfast was excellent, staff was very welcoming, and very clean. The only bad is the interstate noise. Be sure and ask for a room away from the interstate.」

「Decent. Well maintained considering age of the building.」

「The man at the front desk was friendly, both at check in and check out.」

「We’re very disappointed that the observatory was not open. And the Beach was in unusable do to over growth weeds and grass in the sand! Cats were very nice and had some great time by the fire pit and on the boat!」

「Oh my word this place is incredible. Bed was comfortable great location and the original aspects of the old building brought up to date with modern convenience. I think Jennifer and I will be getting more acquainted because I have a hard time finding a decent place to stay when I come to my hometown to visit. Carlinville is good little town close to my hometown and made attending my best friends wedding in Gillespie a breeze. We will be back.」

「The manager was very helpful. I thought that he couldn’t find my second room reservation, but it turned out that when Expedia asked me for the person name for the second room, they actually put that person‘s name on the reservation, even though I was making the reservation and paying for both rooms. So a note – if you’re reserving more than 1 room for traveling companions or family members, put your name on all of the rooms.」

「Wonderful stay! This home is beautiful. Our hosts Sandy and Jim were gracious and it was a pleasure to be with them for the evening. Highly recommended!」

「You will love this comfort old but homey house. With lots of interesting route 66 memorabilia. Hosts was very responsive and helpful. Country market is well stocked with all you can eat brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Also very good Mexican close by.」

「Great place. Great location.」

「The downtown Alton location is cozy, quiet, and comfy. It is just a few blocks from excellent food and shops on the riverfront. The apartment is cozy and we cooked a meal there every day over the week stay. Love the bathroom!」
