Slippery Jim's Cozy Retreat

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful, cozy cabin, located in Skandia, Michigan. Explore 40 acres of field and forest and experience glorious sunsets. You can enjoy LOTS of space and privacy here. Marquette and beautiful Lake Superior are a scenic, 15 minute drive. The lovely town of Munising and the infamous Pictured Rocks are an hour away. Bring your snowmobiles for some extra fun!

3 big Cs: Clean, Cute, and Communicative make this rental home stand out. Cute home, decorated nicely. Tons of games and activities for young and old. They even provided wood for the bonfire. Everything was clean and thoughtfully laid out. The 2 non-master bedrooms were small but met our needs. Communication with Lisa was excellent! We brought to her attention an issue that would need to be addressed before the next renters (something out of anyone’s control) and it was resolved first thing the next morning. You are out in the middle of nowhere and there are so many stars! But 15 minutes from Marquette with all the conveniences you might need. Kitchen has Keurig, French press, drip coffee maker and electric kettle. K-cups and tea bags provided, as well as basic spices. Plenty of towels and blankets. They keep a book for feedback and have clearly taken comments to heart. They seem to genuinely want their renters to have a wonderful experience, and they pay attention to details. I definitely recommend, and would stay here if we ever go back to the UP.

What a perfect spot to have peace and quiet while still having access to so many cool places! The house was decorated perfectly and communication was easy and quick. I only wish I could have stayed longer. We will be back!

We LOVE this property!!! Close enough to town, but a quiet and peaceful escape from the city The house is charming, inviting, comfortable, and spacious, with all the amenities to make our stay PERFECT!Lori is a FANTASTIC host, going out of her way to make sure we have everything we need and even accommodating special requests!We have stayed here multiple times and it's at the top of our list every time we make trip plans to the area!

Little slice of heaven

What a charming place. Slippery Jim's is warm and welcoming and has everything you could need. The beds are comfortable and there's plenty of room. It's quiet and secluded, but not far from downtown Marquette. Lori is a great host and responded quickly anytime I had questions. Thanks for sharing your lovely home with us.

Dont be afraid of the name of this place! It is absolutely adorable and very comfortable. Stayed with my 2 sisters while visiting my daughter at NMU. Fall colors were at peak and absolutely AMAZING! House was very clean and comfortable. Lots of games and kids toyd. Highly recommended it and will be happy to go again!

Just far enough out of town to not be in the chaos but close enough to get there when we needed to be. The home was very homey, and easy to come back to for relaxation. Definitely will stay again, hopefully for a longer duration.

Wonderful. quiet, and relaxing

We come to the Upper Peninsula every fall as a family adventure. Our choice of Slippery Jim's Raise eyebrows with the name. However, the rental was as it is described. We loved using it a our base camp as we explore Marquette - north, south, east and west. Waterfalls, trails scenic hikes, shopping downtown Marquette, and enjoying some great food. We found the provider Lori prompt and helpful. For the old folks all of us between 65-76 found it one of our best VRBO stays. Thank you Lori

Quiet & comfy - a perfect getaway!

This was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Marquette. Being just a short drive out of town (less than 20 min), it was conveniently close to trails, downtown restaurants, and beaches. The best part is not only that it felt private and secluded but the home is beautiful and the beds are comfy!

Great base camp

This was a great base camp while we were in the area looking at houses to purchase. House and property were great, nice and quiet. Only downfall was owner wouldn't sell it to me, lol.
