Matera Bar Hotel

"In the center of the cave properties, no parking , park outside , need to walk about 7 minutes minutes , receptionist was an older gentleman, not helpful, very little English, and somewhat unpleasant , if the property is restricted with parking, I think a detailed instructions how to park is necessary, he was not helpful at all!! But eventually we figured it out, that made the experience somewhat negative, and don’t be fooled by the pool, you need to pay for the time slot , a lot of walking to the room , it is expected for a cave hotel on the hill , the room was pretty far away from the reception area "

"The closest parking garage was blocks away. In fact, you couldn’t get to this hotel by car. Definitely not for people with mobility issues like me. It would have been helpful if the staff gave clearer instructions and if they provided a phone number for taxi services for arriving guests.to at least get them close to the hotel."

"Great location, not too far from Matera Centrale and the piazza is just round the corner. The room is clean, with coffee and tea provided. The breakfast spread is excellent, especially the pastries. "

"The hotel is incredible and the staff is as well. We absolutely loved our stay. It was truly a unique experience. However, guests should know that because the hotel is literally incorporated into the caves, it can be physically demanding climbing all the stone stairs. People with mobility issues will definitely struggle at this hotel"

"In Expedia shows as Hotel but it’s a nice residence without hotel Services. Room in general was fine (bed was really comfortable and shower was super). There were some problem with Wc table not stable and not enough privacy since the toilet is separated to the bedroom only by one glass door. Every night it was a smell of fire (even if you have the window closed) maybe from a pizzeria or bakery next to residence. We didnt find any spa. Italian breakfast it’s to another hotel near by. Cleaning staff was really nice, receptionist Not always present but you can reach it via WhatsApp. "
