“Euro 180 is charged for private boat trip but no English speaking guide, no welcome drink or fruit basket in room considering 5 star and nearly 500 euro rate! Breakfast is good. Gym room is opened 9 or 10am, not designed for morning excercise purpose! Room reserved considered to be garden view but in actual, funny hotel back of house view! No show for one room, no consideration for partial refund or extend for future use- waste!”

“Hotel was right across the train station so it was not a long walk at all. Very convenient. The lake was behind the hotel so easy access. There is also a very nice and big restaurant right beside the hotel which was a bonus. The ferry station was about 10 minutes walk so not bad. Over all the hotel was great. Breakfast was included with our stay. It was average. ”

“Excellent quiet place with outstanding service. Very clean and highly recommend. The complimentary breakfast was also very good. Only things to be aware is that the center of Varenna is a significant distance down the mountain. You can walk there but it is a pretty good distance. The hotel will arrange local taxi to take you down and back up. The cost will be between 10 and 15 euros each way but very much worth it.
