Perfect house for friends and family in Monteverde

The is a two story house located only 10 minute drive to the Monteverde Reserve, walking distance to the Monteverde Cheese Factory and Curi Cancha Reserve. There is a farm next to the house so will see many cows daily. The owners lives on the first floor, and rent the second floor as a separate house. This doesn’t mean you share anything, you have your own home in Monteverde!
The house has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining area, fully equipped kitchen, balcony and nice green area in front. The main bedroom has a king size bed, flat screen TV, closet and its own bathroom with rain shower. The second bedroom has 2 double size beds and closet.
Easy access to main town and to most reserves around the area. Restaurants, shops, stores, pharmacies, buses and taxis are easy access.
Private house with the best location in Monteverde. You will definitely want to come back!

Great location for visiting Reserves

We enjoyed our 4 day stay in this rustic but well equiped house just out of town. Easy access to Monteverde Cloud Reserve and right next door to the Curi-Cancha Reseve. We could walk to get a coffee, groceries and ice cream at the cheese factory. We saw many birds from the front porch including the Tucans. There is a well stocked book library including a few for infants. Darlene was most helpful, responding quickly to all our questions. Our only downside was that the weather was unseasonably hot this year and there is no AC and just one fan which made it hot for sleeping at night. Orherwise a wonderful stay.

Good enough

This is a hidden place in Monte verde tucked in between a Reserve and a farm, with beautiful views. No major complains except for some points to be noted: - Sunrise cannot be seen from this property because of the hill behind the property. - Please note that there is no a/c or heater and there is limited hot water supply during our stay here. - Entire house is done with hardwood, may be that is the reason why it creeks. - TV is in master bedroom and not in the living room

Wonderful Getaway

This is a beautiful, spacious, private house in a great location. Shops and wonderful restaurants are just a few minute drive away. El Bosque restaurant is a 10 minute walk, and the Tree house restaurant in town were our favourites. Several activities are easy to get to by car, with variable trip duration. We would definitely come back.

Great house in great location for seeing Monteverde.

Everything was what we'd hoped for. Nice spacious home. Great location - rural but just a short drive to town - If you don't have your own car you'd need to get a taxi to restaurants, stores etc., but it is quite close. Thanks, Darlene, for everything.

Great Monteverde Stay

This house was so amazing for our stay. We were super comfortable and the porch is such a relaxong spot to hang out. It's a very short drive to Santa Elena and it was also only about a 20-30 min drive to selvatura. Darlene was very fast to respond to any questions.

Wish we could have stayed here longer

We had a great trip to Costa Rica and we stayed 2 nights here before going down to the beach for a few nights. This property really would have been suitable for a longer stay, especially if we were making food at home and so on. As it happened we mostly ate out and did really use all the facilities as much as we could have. Really nice bathrooms and main living area. Monteverde is fairly hard to get to due to road conditions but well worth it

Great views and super clean.

We only stayed here one night in order to see the cloud forest, but we were very happy with this place. We met the owner, Darlene, who was very gracious and hospitable. She made great recommendations for food in town and showed us everything we needed to know for the house and then skedaddled. The house itself has a beautiful wrap-around porch outside with fantastic views down the hill that the house is situated on. The house inside was scrupulously clean which made me very happy. There is no A/C just as a warning, but portable fans were available on-site and with the windows cracked at night, the house was very cool and comfortable. It's outside of the town of Monteverde which was nice so you're not right in the middle of traffic and tourists, but close enough to town to make for a short ride. Pro-tip, try out the soaker tub in the master bathroom, it felt so good after a long day. All in all, very pleasant experience in a great house with a very kind owner. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to the area.

We loved the house.

The house was perfect for our family. Close to the park and town but far enough away to be relaxing and peaceful. We loved eating breakfast on the patio watching the birds and local wildlife.

Would definitely return!

A lovely, spacious home, close to everything but far enough away to attract many different colourful birds at the trees and feeder. Darlene and Sabrina are terrific and were very helpful booking tours for us. It would be helpful if they got their on-demand hot water system to work consistently though -- we had too many cold showers (I imagine it just needs a 'tune up').

Beautiful home with everything you could want!

Darlene was incredibly responsive and helpful. The kitchen had everything you could want for a vacation home. The weather wasn't great when we were there but the house was so comfortable it didn't matter. There were even baby toys and books!

Great place in Monteverde

The house was extremely nice! It's a great location! It's quiet with lovely views but still close to shops and restaurants. Darlene was an amazing host! She helped us book tours and was extremely knowledgable about all of Costa Rica and the best tours to take. I would definitely stay here again!
