This was my second stay. The first was uneventful. This one was a disaster.
At 5pm I had to walk around looking for someone to check us in. I eventually found the front desk manager in the basement chatting with the bartender. He looked up and said he’d “be right there.” He got to us 10 minutes later.
When we got to our room it was 61 degrees with no heat. There was a brand-new portable heater sitting there unplugged, remote still in the plastic, and no one mentioned a thing at check-in.
The next morning there was no cold water. Both the sink and shower ran scalding hot. I let the front desk know and was told it would be taken care of. It wasn’t. When I followed up later, I was told no one had even looked into it.
Maintenance eventually said we needed to move rooms. The next room had the exact same problem. We were finally moved to the first floor above the restaurant.
The restaurant was supposed to close at 9pm, but there was a DJ and a full-blown party until 1:45am. On top of that, someone nearby was smoking weed until nearly 6am.
I had extended my stay because of an incoming blizzard, but once I realized I wouldn’t be flying out until Wednesday, I couldn’t imagine staying there that long. I took an Uber to LaGuardia, rented a car, and drove home instead.
Between the lack of basic maintenance, poor communication, and complete disregard for guests, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money staying here.
