"We booked this trip last minute so we arrived in the middle of the night with young kids. The room was a king and sofa bed. Beach front view was the only good thing unfortunately. The hotel was dirty and very beat up from the moment we walked in all the way to our room and beyond. Upon check-in, they charged my debit card the fee for incidentals (I try a lot so that’s expected and was completely fine). I paid for this trip prior to arrival in full. Unfortunately on top of the lack of cleanliness, my card was charge multiple times over the course of 2 days totaling $655. After a days worth of phone calls and getting nowhere with the hotel, I was forced to call my bank and lock my account so no further charges could come through. The hotel has been refunding me for the wrongful charges, but it was a complete nightmare for me and my family traveling with two little kids. The cleanliness lead me to leave the hotel after the one sleep. We ate at the buffet overlooking the beach. The staff was nice but the food was just blah. On our walk to the restaurant, the outdoor pool was full of green pollen. I understand it’s the height of the season but it just needed to be tended to and cleaned. They front desk let me know I would be charged an early checkout fee and could not refund the two other days we booked. I left without “checking out” to avoid additional fees. The staff was rude when calling on the phone. Overall, it was a nightmare of dirty hotel and unexpected charges. Stay away!"
