“Arrived and not only was the room not ready, the sea view room that we thought was booked was not available”

“Another fantastic stay at Aspen lodge where nothing is too much trouble and you are served amazing breakfasts. Stayed for a week and we literally had a different breakfast daily. You can eat indoors or outdoors too here. We came back for the views and location, the food and the peace and most of all the warmth and kindness and local knowledge of our host A big thankyou once again”

“Was ok. Peaceful location but huge gravel car park directly in front of ground floor rooms was noisy in morning and evening. Stale smell inside the hotel in general. Staff were overly “formal / professional” - felt almost awkward at times and didnt feel friendly. Hot breakfast for £25 not good value, continental breakfast at £17 also not good value (yoghurt, granola, canned fruit and watermelon). Good bedding, comfortable beds, but at this price I would not return.”

“We had a nice, large bedroom and the bed was comfortable, however, the bathroom was smaller than a cruise ship! My husband is 6’5” and his head hit the shower ceiling. We almost had to sit sideways on the toilet because the towel warmer was so close. There were no towel bars to dry your towels, yet they want you to conserve water and use it again (which is not a problem when my towel is dry!). The hotel felt “dated”. Breakfast was nice except for the eggshells in the scrambled eggs. We even had……

“Lovely views of Loch Awe. The driver wasn’t so happy about the long single track road but the other two enjoyed the solitude and quiet at the end of the road. Rooms are comfortable and all different.”

“The parking was very easy and we felt the car was in s secure lot. The check in was fast and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. The restaurant was very well organized and the food was very good. The continental breakfast waa delicious. Checkout was quick. The staff were friendly and professional.”

“Over price, facilities too old”

“Die Lage direkt am Hafen ist super. Lokale zum Essen gibt es vor dem Hotel. Es gab nur 1 Handtuch für 2 Personen. Im Badezimmer gab es einen unangenehmen Geruch. Der Seifenspender ist kaputt, er rinnt. Zum Einchecken braucht man ein Smartphone mit Internet, was bei den Nachbarn leider nicht funktionierte. Es gibt kein Personal vor Ort !!!!!!!”

“港町オーバンの便利な場所にある小さなホテルで駐車場はなかったものの、ホテルの人に「土日は路上コインパーキングが17時以降は無料」と教えてもらえた。 部屋はやや狭めで冷蔵庫なし。特に不便さは感じなかった。 宿泊料金に含まれている朝食(確か朝食無しのプランはなかったはず)の豪華さには驚いた。ビュッフェスタイルでパン、飲み物、ヨーグルト、フルーツなどを取って食べ始めたら、ウエイトレスさんがテーブルにやってきて、どのメニューがよいか？と聞く。メニュー7つほどあり、これ絶対料金だよね、と夫と話しながら値段を探すがどこにも書いていない。思い切って聞いてみたら、無料で一人一皿付いていますと。そして適当に選んで出てきたのが写真のとおり(一部食べかけですみません)食パンに卵、野菜、ハム、アボカドディップなど豪華に乗ったもので、まわりを見渡すといずれのメニューも工夫を凝らしておいしそうでヘルシー！10日間のスコットランド旅行で一番豪華でコスパのよい朝食でした。”

“Not worth the cost. The bathroom fan wasn’t working and the shower drain needs unclogging. I had to stop the water for it to drain or it would have over flown the base. The stove light didn’t work. There was no toaster. No facial tissue/kleenex. The dish sponge was used (not good for someone with food allergies like me). There were only two glasses. And be warned, if you are on the top floor like we were, the sun shines on the sliding door all afternoon and into the evening, making the place……
