The room was adequate, clean and newly painted. But no amenities or decor. Rather stark. The carpeted floor was uneven. The plumbing sink and commode were ancient. The commode was very low. Not easy for seniors. AC/Heat was efficient but a bit noisy, as the bed was only a couple of feet away from the unit. Great for anyone looking for an economical motel in the area. Plenty of restaurants nearby.
As always, when in this area of CT. I stay at the Lamplighter. Close to the highway, easy walking distance to numerous restaurants. Always very clean, everything works and i did notice the new beds in my room, which were super comfortable. Extremely nice rooms for the price, with fridge and microwave. Shower, instant hot water and plenty of it. I love staying at the Lamplighter.
It was only for 2 night stay
Very clean ,Great air conditioner, mini fridge near restaurant, stores, gas station and more. The area was very quiet and nice. The owner was very kind. I gave it a 4 stars because there was no room service no coffee maker or microwave. but other than that I will totally recommend it.

Was good for a quick trip and be able to get some rest.
Lamplighter Motel is a nice stay. It has the basics required and they let you know at check in that they won't be cleaning your room during your stay. This was fine for us. Very clean, comfortable beds, basic bathroom and our room even had a small refrigerator. Room also has cable tv and the shower was great. The check in was easy and the lady at the desk was very nice. The price was great so if you're looking for high end or extra amenities stay somewhere else and pay for that. This was perfect for our two night stay and we would stay again. Very happy with our stay at Lamplighter.

Modern and clean interior. Outside neighborhood quiet. Good place for a great rate.
The Lamplighter Motel in Clinton, Connecticut, is a no-frills, budget-friendly accommodation ideal for short stays. Located conveniently near local attractions and the shoreline, it provides easy access to Clinton's charming coastal experiences. The rooms are basic but clean, with essential amenities like Wi-Fi and air conditioning. While it lacks some of the modern conveniences found in larger chains, the affordable pricing makes it a suitable choice for travelers looking for an economical option. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, contributing to a satisfactory stay.
Easy check in, and the lady at the desk was so very nice. We had the same room as last year. The air conditioner works very well, and plenty of hot water in the shower. Room was very clean, but still no curtain in the bathroom window, as was last year, also. Next year, I'm definitely bringing one, lol.
I enjoyed staying here. It's a small, simple place. It's very quiet. We arrived late because we decided last minute to stay overnight. I used the phone outside of the door to alert the clerk that I was there to check in. The owners live onsite. I believe I woke her up. I felt bad. She could not have been nicer. It was a great experience. I would not only recommend it, I will be staying there again.

Disliked: Amenities
Fine for an overnight. No fan in the bathroom. No toilet paper holder. Shower had great pressure, but tub was at least 4-6 inches higher than normal. Only 1 hand towel and 1 bath towel per person.
My family and I stayed at the Lamplighter Motel in Clinton, Connecticut, for one night on Friday, October 20, 2023. Despite being an older establishment, the motel is well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. The room, though small, was cozy and well-kept, reflecting the care and attention given to the property.
The staff was friendly, and both check-in and check-out processes were quick and efficient. We also appreciated the ease of parking. The motel's affordability was a pleasant surprise, offering excellent value for money.
The location of the motel is convenient, situated in the charming town of Clinton, which added to our overall positive experience. Based on our stay, we would highly recommend the Lamplighter Motel for its combination of comfort, value, and excellent location.
