I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and neat the motel was it even smelled good and was conveniently located (right on rt 1 and right off rt.95 I also notice a Pharmacy close by and a great restaurant The Long Cabin. It was surprisingly quiet too : however I would have liked a hair dryer. Maybe the front desk had one I didn't think to ask. Jkiz

We stayed here for 4 nights because we wanted to spend the days at Hammonasset Beach. For a bare bones motel, it was definitely worth the price. They were very nice and everything we wanted was close by. We would stay again.

The Lamplighter is the place I always stay at when I am in this section of Connecticut. It has Clean Rooms, Comfortable Beds, Good Working Air-conditioning, plenty of Hot Water for the Shower, a Low Price, Friendly Staff, Microwaves and Refrigerators, close to the Highway, walking distance to a Great Restaurant ( the Log Cabin). I'm already looking forward to my Return.

The room was filthy! we had to shop for cleaning items and clean the table, scrubbing it 3 times! before we could put anything on it. The floors were disgusting and the bathroom had a constant stench, the toilet was loose and the floor black with dirt, this is just a few things that was wrong. We should have been paid to stay there. Very unhappy

Do not walk, run. If you have no choice, throw a plastic tarp across the bed and hang your belongings in a bear bag from the ceiling. Tough to get comfortable in this place.
