"The view and setting really made the trip and the staff were so lovely, kind and helpful! Watching the sunset each evening outside on the rocks was glorious. The complementary breakfast was really great, fresh baked croissants and a list of hot options. The rooms were clean and basic but just want was needed really. The location was fantastic for some great walks and sightseeing. I really enjoyed our 2 nights there and would go back."

"We had rooms looking at the castle ruins, and the views here are spectacular. Loved the hotel. Kind of a stuck in time building, right on cliff. Cool decor, cool bar, breakfast kind of *meh* for the price. I loved my room, we had two singles. The only thing is that the bathroom/shower is smaller than that of a boat, which I get since they most likely renovated and you work with the space you have. Room was not big, but was sufficient and nice, and felt clean and had an old school feel of a place lost in time. Would have loved to have more time to just relax there and enjoy the hotel, honestly."

We did have an issue on our last night which interfered with our plans but the staff at reception were very understanding, helpful and accommodating. "As it was once a jail, the walls are thick and built under interesting (challenging) circumstances, which you can learn about. It feels like you are inside a sturdy fortress. The rooms are very well appointed and the bathroom is a highlight, with a waterfall shower and a fabulous bathtub placed on the tiles at the other end of a full length wall mirror. Lux. Staff were friendly and reserved, very easy to deal with. The restaurant/breakfast room is an old chapel. It’s impressive. Had a lovely quiet stay here, thick walls and the small windows of the cell."
