“Beautiful location, so calm and quiet! And the hot tub was wonderful. There were a few things that we thought could improve: In the mini fridge, it would be nice to have a small freezer section for popsicles, ice cream, etc. Some of the towels smelled faintly of smoke, but there were plenty of extra towels and sheets in the cabinets.In the bathroom, there was a faint dog smell, and my friend noticed a smell on the right side of the bed. “This wonderful home is even more attractive and comfortable than the photographs prepared us for. The location is very peaceful with a large deck and several room windows looking out to Tamales Bay and a verdant tree scape. Yet it is very close to the main road and all our favorite hiking and swimming spots. Somehow in our decades of renting houses at Point Reyes we’d never found this one and we’ve stayed at some great places, but this is a house we now have at the top of our list for future……

“I wish I did a little more research before booking. This lodge used to be a hostel and still seems more like a hostel than lodge. It would be perfect if I wasn’t traveling with a toddler who wants to get into everything. Location is about a five minute drive from the beach. We saw a ton of deer. It’s a little ways to the shipwreck and lighthouse. Great for trail access. Overall, if you’re traveling with small children or folks who overheat easily, maybe not the best place. If you need a base……

“Overall we had a great stay. But I want to clear up a few issues. There is room for two cars in the driveway because it’s a long driveway, one car goes in first and one car parks behind it. The next issue is that there are only one and 1/2 bathrooms. There’s a 1/2 bath on the main floor and one full bath (no bathtub) on the lower floor. There is no fan in the 1/2 bath, only a small window for ventilation. So, there is a main floor, a lower floor and a loft above the living room. The loft is……
