“The Carte’s were extremely pleased with our stay for the 2025 Labor Day holiday. The house was amazing, clean and Phil was extremely helpful with answering our questions about the area. The best part of our trip was by far the wild horses and the seclusion of the Rusty Crab. We recommend booking a visit at this house and giving it a 10 out of 10!!!”

“Our first time in the Northern Banks / 4WD section of OBX. We are hooked, we’ll definitely be back. We went in the off-season which was quite nice. The property itself is as advertised and very comfortable and spacious, and well appointed. The owner was extremely responsive and a breeze to deal with. I thought it was very good value for the money and appropriately priced. Highly recommend but hopefully YOU don’t book MY Thanksgiving holiday next year! :)”

“The overall condition of the house was great. The only disappointment was that there was a sand dune directly in front of us impeding our view. I would recommend also to get lighting by the driveway. Check in was later and we had absolutely no idea which building as it was 730pm and dark. There is an absolute eye sore blocking the house from the road and at first we thought that was our place. ”

“Well appointed if well-used house. Lots of room to spread out, and the elevator was a plus to accommodate an elderly family member. Fairly well-appointed kitchen with a very fast ice-maker comfortable beds, and multiple spaces for dining and games. We loved that a big table sat 12 of us for meals. Definitely requires 4-wheel drive, but the location is superb with beautiful views of the ocean and dunes. ”
