We had a great stay at the Motel 6 in Portland, Maine. The highlight of our stay was the gentleman at the front desk who checked us in. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and had me laughing from the moment I arrived, making us feel right at home after a long day of traveling. Our room was surprisingly large, giving us plenty of space to relax and unpack. It was also very clean and well-maintained, which is always appreciated when you're on the road. Overall, the combination of excellent customer service, a spacious room, and a clean environment made for a wonderful stay. We would gladly stay here again when visiting Portland.

Parking was easy and secure. Rooms were comfortable. Tap water was drinkable (I know that doesn't sound like much, but it's not at a lot of the less expensive places). Oh, and the coffee was excellent (and I'm a coffee snob and am quite picky....it was an unexpected bonus).

Going to our first room. Key did not unlock, I belive people inside. Upon going to our 2nd room, the hallway and room stunk like a cat sprayed. Shower curtain had mold on the bottom. Sink, water splashed everywhere due to missing a piece.

Our room was damp due to condensation from the air conditioning. The bathroom looked as if the toilet leaked, there was that much condensation. I left my laptop in the room when we went out (before realizing that the condensation was a problem) and the condensation got inside my computer and fried it. If the desk staff at our check in weren’t so amazing I would have given ONE star.

The 4 days/3 nights stay was okay at most. We had our 2 dogs with us which were free of charge. There was no refrigerator in the room. We used the ice machine on the hallway to keep some food cold... There was good air conditioning especially during these 100F days! The bathroom sink faucet was hard to operate without spraying water all over. We ended up putting 2 of the large towels around the sink to retain the water. $162 per night was high for these conditions but it was 4th of July weekend, and everything was very expensive around Portland Maine....

First room had bed covered in dog hair. They did give me another room, but the whole place felt like a homeless shelter. Did not feel comfortable leaving my car parked in lot outdoors. Do not recommend.
