We had a great stay at the Motel 6 in Portland, Maine. The highlight of our stay was the gentleman at the front desk who checked us in. He was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and had me laughing from the moment I arrived, making us feel right at home after a long day of traveling. Our room was surprisingly large, giving us plenty of space to relax and unpack. It was also very clean and well-maintained, which is always appreciated when you're on the road. Overall, the combination of excellent customer service, a spacious room, and a clean environment made for a wonderful stay. We would gladly stay here again when visiting Portland.

Parking was easy and secure. Rooms were comfortable. Tap water was drinkable (I know that doesn't sound like much, but it's not at a lot of the less expensive places). Oh, and the coffee was excellent (and I'm a coffee snob and am quite picky....it was an unexpected bonus).

First room had bed covered in dog hair. They did give me another room, but the whole place felt like a homeless shelter. Did not feel comfortable leaving my car parked in lot outdoors. Do not recommend.

The only issue I had was the hallway on the third floor had an odd odor that turned my stomach but the room itself didn’t smell and was very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Amanda was truly a pleasure and very helpful to us. I give the entire staff we encounter a 10. Price was very affordable.

Parking was easy and I felt secure. A leak in the plumbing of the room above mine created a a puddle in my room's bathroom. I was offered the opportunity to move. I declined. Common areas were not well kept, carpet and floors were dirty. Though signage suggested key cards were necessary to access elevator and rooms, the doors were taped open.
