"Basic but nice clean cabin, had what we needed for 2 nights. Electric fireplace for heat. Enjoyed the coffee and coffee pot they supplied. Also had a microwave, small fridge and tv with dvd player. DVD player wouldn’t work but this sweet lady came and replaced the cable for us and it worked great for movies for our kids. There are blackout curtains everywhere but in the bathroom so some light shines out above the bathroom door. We slept well in spite of this! Beautiful 10 min walk down the road to a little grocery which also has a coffee bar. Only downside was small water heater means one person gets a hot shower before waiting for it to heat up again. 30 min drive to Seward. I would stay here again!"
"Historic and charming hotel in a great location. It's a quick walk to restaurants, shopping, the sea mammal center and a stop for the free shuttle bus around town. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was great."
"The rooms were better than we expected. It had a small kitchenette with microwave and a full size fridge which helped us with some boxed meals during our stay"
"Good location outside of Seward at the beginning of the scenic drive toward Exit Glacier. Our room did have a private bathroom and shower with the sink being in the main room. The two queen room was very space on furniture, you basicly have to live out of your suitcase on the floor. The weather was warm (64-70F) and with no a/c (very common in Alaska) and no cross fentilation the room was very difficult to cool down."
"We had a great time during our visit. Steward was an amazing place to visit. Lots to do and see. Rays Waterfront was a great restaurant that we ate at. Took a 7.5 hour cruise through the national Park to see Northwestern glacier. Took another cruise in Whittier. They both were great. All kinds of hiking trails to accommodate whatever kind of hiking you like. The trail behind the cabin that leads to the Delta was breathtaking. Beautiful views there along with the eagles. The location of the cabin worked with our itinerary. The cabin was clean. The kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfortable. Marion and Jesse created a paradise. If he ever head back to Alaska we will definitely stay there again."
"Awesome accommodation only minutes away from downtown Seward yet feels completely secluded. The host built the cabin from scratch not long ago so it still feels brand new, and their care for the place really shines through its tasteful furnishings and personal touches. The rooms are cozy yet well utilized, and the kitchen is equipped with everything needed for an extended stay. Highlight for us was probably sitting by the creek that runs right through the backyard. Highly recommend the Retreat at Stoney Creek to all respectful travelers, as its combination of natural settings comfort value easily beats any hotel room in the area hands down."
