The resort is well staffed, and the people are very kind and helpful. It is kept very clean however, the food choices are poor. The advertise restaurant is not in a building, but alfresco dining, which requires a reservation, which takes hours in a line to wait for. The rooms are uncomfortable. The mattresses are not hygienically covered in a full mattress cover the television has terrible reception. There are no amenities no gym. There is one pool and it is overcrowded the beach, chairs, and pool chairs need repair and replacement. The drinks are delicious and the resort is safe. The beach is not great for swimming. There are many reefs on Rocky ground. The housekeeping service is excellent. They come every day and do a very good job. The gardening grounds are lovely. There is entertainment every night but it’s a little bit corny. I wish they would just have great Spanish music with a wonderful dancing vibe every night instead of lip syncing rock ‘n’ roll shows.

Excelente servicios en recepción, me atendió María y es muy amable. Excelente servicios de limpieza Excelente personal del restaurante la Roca Son muy atentos. En especial Ramón muy atento y dedicado a su trabajo Más vigilancia y entrenamiento de servicio al cliente con los de limpieza en la playa, unos de ellos, no recuerdo su nombre me solitó buscarle 3 cerveza mientras hacia su labor en la playa."abuso de confianza". Después, todo lo demás excelente Volvería a descansar y distraer la mente Fue un excelente descanso. Gracias Expedia excelente app para viajar y Playa bachata muy bien risort en Puerto Plata.

The place is run down but very clean! Staff is very friendly and attentive. The pool area if you are elder or if you have mobility issues you cannot use. I went because my 91yrs old mom wanted me to take her on her birthday, she loves the pool but was not able to use it because they only have the steel ladders on the sides no descending steps like most pools. I asked if there was another and why but they only have one. She did not enjoy her stay.

Our room was clean but very dated and needed maintenance. A 3 ft long light fixture in the bathroom fell down in our bathroom, 2 feet away from me! After that I was afraid to even use the bathroom. Hot water was non existent, out of 7 days we had lukewarm water only 1 day. Wifi is terrible, dont plan on connecting. Food was ok, not great. We did go to the senator for habachi and that was a fun experience.The beach was excellent, plenty of shade and chairs.Pool chairs were always reserved by 8am. The bar service was excellent, no complaints 👌. Entertainment was decent, after a few drinks it was excellent! The omelet station was very tasty for breakfast.

The room was clean the only issues we had was the tv was super static so you could hardly see and there was lots of hair in the shower, staff were super friendly and you could tell they are very happy and genuine folk, the food was good probably one of the best buffets I’ve been to in a while the meat was a little overcooked though. I’m not picky by any means I’m just giving this review for other people.

The staff were generally very helpful and friendly and really tried to please. However, our room was furnished with very old furnishings and stank of mould. The fridge was ancient and dripped water inside; the bathtub soap dispenser was broken (but was replaced when we requested it). Also, the lock to the sliding doors was broken, as well as the lock to the only window. We put pens into the window well and my cane at the bottom of the sliding doors. The black-out curtains were ripped and let in light at night. We stayed for the excellent variety of food offered and for the long strand of beach with older trees and palms that offered lots of shade if desired. Also, the pool area was quite large and didn't feel crowded. The amenities were good too; as you could go over to a portion of the Senator side which offered a free Pizza joint, Coffee & Pastry Bar & Ice Cream shop.
