“The staff was very warm and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was typical hotel breakfast. The breakfast was good and the area for eating was clean. ”

“We stayed 4 nights and never had room serviced. There was a sign that said every other day. We could never get the shower to stop running. It was dripping from the head and from the faucet out onto the floor. There wasn't any hair conditioner in the shower only shampoo and body wash. Also, the bathroom floor had dirt piled up in the corners. The bed is very comfy. Nice to have a kitchen and the extra living space. It is in a nice quiet area but there are no eateries close by. ”

“Hotel & room mostly clean. Staff friendly & helpful. Coffee in room and at breakfast undrinkable. The first day there was a man huffing out of aerosol cans he found in the dumpster next to parking area. That night there were 2 people in the enclosed courtyard smoking marijuana. I did not report bc I was the only other person besides staff around. Idk if they were guests or off the street as back door was not locked. Hopefully my stay in Tuscaloosa next week will be better.”

“We had some trouble checking in. We booked the property ahead of time, the property called the morning of our stay to let us know our room was not available due to a repair and would love us to 2 or more rooms at no charge. We asked for rooms together and they said absolutely. Then when we arrived, our rooms were on completely different floors. Everyone was very kind, it just seemed like a lack of communication. Everything worked out and we ended up getting rooms at least on the same floor. ”

“This is the second time I have stayed at the Tutwiler. Both time have been very pleasant! Large clean suites. Excellent service. Beautiful hotel. Slightly outdated, but not deteriorated. This hotel is in walking distance to the BJCC. Note, valet parking cost nearly $40, so add that to your cost, but that is not uncommon in cities. The staff was very considerate. I did not have any concerns or needs, but check in was easy and smooth. ”

“The staff was amazing!!! Actually beyond amazing. I wish I remembered the young lady at the front desk’s name but she was super helpful. She gave us so many great recommendations for restaurants. The hotel not only offered airport shuttle service but also provided shuttle to local attractions. Saved us money on Ubers. The driver (I believe was named Sam) was just a kind good hearted man. There’s no other place I would think about staying next time while I’m in Birmingham ”
