"Lovely superior room overlooking the beach in the Praia hotel (note that there are 2 different buildings, so the cheaper rooms are not on in the beachside building). Fell asleep listening to the waves each night. Be aware that the bathroom ‘wall’ is a half-frosted glass pane (though the toilet is separated). Not an issue if you’re close to the person you’re sharing the room with! Breakfast was good but not great. Worth including at the discounted rate but definitely not worth the €22 on the day! Overall, the rooms are great value for money, and we would stay here again, but only in the superior rooms in the ‘Praia’ hotel. "

"The hotel staff are friendly, cheerful and helpful. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast was very good with a large choice to suit all tastes. The nearby nightlife goes on well into the early hours and can be very disturbing if you don’t want to be part of it!"

"After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to my stay at Hotel de gale. Unfortunately, due to a flight cancellation, I informed the Hotel I was going to be arriving a day late and To please hold my reservation. I told him I would gladly 4 forfeit my first night as I simply could not arrive with my flight disruption. Upon arrival, I was informed my reservation had been completely cancelled and they had no rooms available. I was shocked, as I had informed the Hotel I was going to be arriving a day late and please hold my room. The front desk did not make any effort to accommodate me and basically said your reservation is cancelled and goodbye.. I think people that stay at this hotel in the future might want to keep my experience in mind, as they just don’t seem very prepared to give any kind of service. I was really looking forward to coming back and spending some more time in albufeira, as the area is beautiful. This experience with the Hotel de gale has soured my outlook on the area, and I don’t think I’ll return. "

"The condo was precisely as shown in the photos. Knowing that our stay was for 22 days, we were left with just one garbage bag, 2 rolls of TP. The outdoor loungers were held together with duct tape, the sofa was stained and uncomfortable to sit on, the beach umbrella folded outward at the smallest breeze. The bed was comfortable, but all of the pillows were small and bunched. BEWARE that the sliding door locks when closed (we were locked out on our first night here). One tea towel was provided, but nothing to wash the dishes. There were multiple pans and pots, but only one lid. As a first-time visitor to Portugal, it would have been nice to have a visitor map of the area, and the condo complex (it took us a few days to find the pool). The view from the balcony is just as shown in the photos, so that everywhere we wanted to go required walking down hill and back up again. It was 82 steps from the unit to the pool. These inclines were very steep.Not so bad going, but back to the unit was extremely difficult. We could walk to the Intermarche in about 15 minutes, but all the way back up took 20 minutes. Likewise, we could walk to the marina or into Old Town Albufeira (it's a very steep incline for both). We had to provide our own cooking essentials (salt, pepper, cooking oil). Good hot water, and pressure in the shower. "
