"You don't need to bring a thing. The host Saleste Buckley is terrific. We lived her welcome basket that included fresh eggs. I usually bring a good knife and things to wrap left overs. All good here. The bed was comfortable. Nice Linens were appreciated., Outside patio was enjoyed. Location was what we wanted. Hate to say lots more or it will not available for my next stay. LOL "
"Such a lovely stay in Guilford! We loved the location - close to the Guilford green and Jacob's Beach. And the house was perfect! So comfortable and had everything we needed. We walked in the evenings and enjoyed sitting outside in the yard. We will definitely stay there again when we visit CT!"

"It was a beautiful house. The views were gorgeous. The pool was well maintained and a nice place to hangout, overall wonderful place to stay and unwind. We’d definitely come back."
"Overall, we enjoyed ourselves very much. The house is older and a very traditional beach house, but with some nice, open concept, spaces with comfy furnishings to hang out in, and the water is right there. The neighborhood is super quiet, the kitchen had everything we needed for basic cooking and the bookshelves were full of amazing books. In fact, I'd like to invite the owner/reader of these wide-ranging books to dinner as this person would be very interesting for sure. There was only a couple of drawbacks, and I should have paid closer attention to the amenities listed in the listing, as there is no AC in the house at all, but there were fans in every room. We had two days of high 90s temps with high humidity, and we suffered, especially at night and first thing in the morning when the sun pours in the East facing Master bedroom windows which have no shades or blinds whatsoever to block the sun. However, on regular 80-degree summer days, it cooled down nicely at night and AC was not needed. Still a 5-star experience but I'd bring dark sheets with me next time to cover the windows on the odd day I want to sleep in."

"Our family of five stayed here for four months. I have only wonderful things to say about this house, the town of Guilford, and our hosts, Starlet and James. The house is a mid-century retreat set in a beautiful forest. We saw deer, squirrels, and chipmunks, and enjoyed the sounds of owls and coyotes (in the distance) at night. The kitchen and main bathroom are brand new and gorgeous! The kids loved the large soaking tub, and we loved cooking meals in the perfectly appointed kitchen. It had everything we needed and then some. The three bedrooms have comfortable beds and plenty of storage. There is a spacious office and a great sunroom - we used it as a workout room. The heating and AC are new and comfortable. The hot water is endless! Again, we can only say good things! In our time in Guilford, we became friendly with the neighbors, enjoyed gorgeous walks around the shoreline (Chaffinch Island Park is a quick stroll away, as well as Barbara Pine beach.) Guilford is the cutest New England town with friendly residents, great shops and restaurants, and easy access to the 95. My husband commuted into Yale on the train which was very convenient and quick. (It’s also a quick 22-ish minute drive.) During our stay, Starlet and James were perfect hosts: very responsive to all messages, thoughtful in letting us know when to expect yard work or maintenance. The heater stopped working once and a repairman was there within a few hours to replace the filter. I recommend this house 100%!"
"Two words perfectly describe this property. Charm and Character seasoned with history. It is a comfortable place to be, and you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. The 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms was just what our group of 7 needed. Be sure to look at the painted door in one of the 1st floor bedrooms. The kitchen has all you need to make a feast. On Christmas day we cooked a 15lb stuffed turkey with 4 side dishes, gravy, and an apple crumble. We could've done a pie but nobody wanted to make a crust. There was 9 of us for dinner. We used the kitchen table as a buffet line, took the chairs into the living room, and ate dinner in front of the working fireplace. Kinda perfect. The house is very close to the town center. Just a short walk to the green and wonderful shops. Get a sandwhich from the market, you won’t be disappointed. The owner Yvette is pleasant and quick to respond to your messages. I know this sounds like your typical be nice review. But you can feel and see the love, care, and attention that she has put into this place. There is thought and soul here.
