“It was great! Person at the front desk switched me from airstream (no bathroom) to hotel, then discussed the unique bed frames which are genius. I built my own the next weekend. Yay me!”

“Someone really did a lot of work to make this older place very nice in many ways. The staff working in the office were very nice people. The lobby and breakfast area were A . I had a single room, since I was travelling alone. I just have 2 complaints. One, the lighting was very dim and eery, probably with flourescent bulbs. The room was very basic, which was fine, but the lighting made it seem creepy. The shower head in the bathroom was way too big for the shower stall. There was no……

“The King Cottage is a great place to stay. Would be better if the fence was fixed to make a private yard where dog could roam. Needs a small table and chairs, though. I recommend getting rid of the recliner and putting in a small table with two chairs.”

“Very clean and roomy. Neat retro look to the motel. Staff was friendly. Check in was super simple. Simple, affordable, and easy location near a lot of local business. Hot tub outside. Definitely would stay again. ”

“Lady who checked us in was the friendliest person I met on this trip. Room was excellent....clean and comfortable. Mexican food restaurant next door was wonderful.”

“Check-in was DIY with my key inside an envelope with my name on it. Apparently, they didn't know I had checked in because I got a cell phone message around 10pm checking to see if I was still coming, but we had already checked in, had been in the room for five hours, and were asleep when the call came in. Other than that weirdness, the room was clean and perfect for a quick sleep before we headed on to Great Sand Dunes NP! Excellent value for the price!”

“The property was recently sold and i feel they were not quite ready for quest .amenities were poor .The room was quiant but there were no hangers or alot of space to put things .This property has great potential. The new owners were working daily on improvements .The closest dining is in salida which is about 15 minutes from the property.”

“Great cabin not too far outside of town. The wilderness is really nice that surrounds the cabin. Very clean and had everything we needed. Hot tub was nice on snowy night! Definitely would stay again! Thanks”

“Lovely wooden cabin only a few meters from the river in a rural setting. Saw lots of deer in the evening in the surrounding area. The owners were very helpful & friendly ”
