“We had a great stay for a little family retreat in off-season Galena. By renting both suites, we essentially had the house to ourself (less the kitchen proper) which was a wonderful surprise (and pleasant when traveling with kids!) Breakfast was wonderful both days and Kate did an amazing job of giving instruction and making sure we had everything that we needed.”

“Chris and Resa run a wonderful B&B! The house itself is beautiful, and if you like seeing original architectural details of historic buildings, this is the place for you. Breakfast was delicious, and it was hard to pick what our favorite meal was. After a day of shopping on Main Street, it was nice to come back to the house for a charcuterie plate and cookies (both different every day!) and wine. My favorite touch was a homemade brownie waiting for us when we checked into our room - delicious!”

The breakfast that was made fresh every morning was by far the best we have ever had. The little extras like wine time with cheese and crackers made the weekend even better. “Lorraine and Jan have a wonderful, homey, inn that feels welcoming and comfortable. The decorations and antiques provide a country charmed feeling. We stayed in the smaller singe room. We peaked into the larger rooms with sitting areas, fireplaces, jacuzzis and they LOOKED AMAZING! Most of the enjoyment comes from the hospitality of Lorraine and Jan. “The Brierwreath Manor Bed and Breakfast is wonderful destination to explore the Galena Area. The Brierwreath is located just steps away from the Historical downtown and you feel like you have stepped back in time and are part of the community as it was in the 1800's. The suite we stayed in was decorated to period and quaint; but had all of the modern conveniences and was immaculate. the innkeeper, Joe, was a perfect host and provided recommendations for places to have dinner, sites to see,……

“It’s was nice and quiet! We loved the area as it was very homey!”

“We spent a few nights in Galena to kick off our spring break and this cabin was the perfect fit for our family. We were so relaxed in the wooded surroundings and hope to return one day when the weather would allow us to enjoy the incredible deck! My teens loved the hot tub and we all played pool together in the evenings. It’s a spacious home that has been carefully tended to by its owners. We had an easy check-in and the owner was very responsive when needed. It’s a short drive to area……
