Absolutely loved this home, clean, comfortable, had all the amenities that you could possibly need. Loved sitting on the deck watching the fishermen pulling traps, the privacy and sunsets. Definitely would recommend it to family and friends.
A wonderfully decorated, extremely comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage. Truly feels like a "Home Away from Home." We enjoyed every aspect of our time there and highly recommend it to everyone.
Best location ever. Worth a special trip! The sunrises are breathtaking and the house is sparkling clean, well stocked and best location right on the water! Enjoyed every minute! Stars at night are an extra bonus!!
Everything was fantastic. The kitchen was well-equipped, the living room was comfortable and spacious, the bedrooms were nice, with great views, comfortable beds and nice bedding. The location was amazing, with a deck directly overlooking the water, and picturesque houses, sheds and docks in the background. No complaints whatsoever.
This has to be the most beautiful house rental experience I've ever had. Both inside the house and the view of the harbor were extrordinary. I could write all kinds of wonderful examples of why we loved this rental. But, best you just go see for yourself; don't wanna ruin the surprises.
This place is exceptionally beautiful and peaceful location and is the perfect place for relaxation. The deck is a great place for watching the water and birdlife and the interior is comfortable and well appointed. The only minor quibble we have is that the stairs to the upper floor (where all the bedrooms are) are short and therefore a little tricky to negotiate for us older folks. Otherwise, it is an ideal spot for a retreat.
Stair Warning! Salt Harbour Cottage is absolutely charming. We really enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable, everything we needed, and beautiful too. My only complaint is the stairs. I wish I had read the reviews more carefully because there is not enough in the description about the stairs. From the parking down to the house are approximately 25 stairs. These are wide and well lit at night and totally fine for people with totally fine knees. For us, getting our luggage up and down them was quite a challenge. And the indoor stairs are a bit narrow and steep, and since the bathroom is on the ground floor and all the bedrooms upstairs, it was a bit difficult at night. I think the house is fabulous, Addie is a great host, and I really highly recommend Salt Harbour Cottage. But I'm not sure I'd stay here again unless I was with some younger and fitter family members.
When we planned a two week trip across NL, it was a rebate whether we would even go to the Twillingate area. There is so much to see, but the appeal of a renovated saltbox on the water sounded peaceful and we couldn't turn it down, and seemed worth the 20 minute drive away from the town.
And it was! From the moment my whole family entered the house it was love. Even my hard to please teenage boys voiced their pleasure at the beautiful, historic home, it's idyllic location, the spectacular views out every window. Our time spent was far too short, and it had us dreaming wistfully of what life would be like to just stay. My only regret was not bringing a kayak or two with us to paddle around the calm waters of Salt Harbour. Thank you for a perfect experience!
Beautiful little cottage right on the water, felt like we were at the end of the world. Fully equipped kitchen, games, etc peaceful and quiet, slept like a baby.
John and Addie's Salt Harbor home was quaint and homey. It was secluded enough but close enough to Twillingate to enjoy everything it had to offer. We loved our time here.
Everything about this place is absolutely amazing. The host has thought of everything and it shows in the decor and items available to guests for a cozy and memorable stay. The loudest sounds will be the birds and boats. We loved this place.
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home.
The kitchen was well stocked as we live to cook.
The house is nicely decorated and the beds are comfortable.
Coffee on the wharf was a delight!
Highly recommended if you’re looking to reconnect to nature and stillness.

There was nothing that I disliked. The cottage was spacious, beautifully decorated, well maintained and clean. If there was one thing that I didn’t like, was that I had to leave after 3 nights. Don’t question whether or not you’ll like this place, there is no reason not to!! If you go please enjoy!!
The property was lovely. The cottage tastefully decorated and the location tranquil and serene. The short drive to Twillingate and surrounding areas for sightseeing and activities was enjoyable and picturesque. The return to the cottage was always a welcome homecoming which we enjoyed tremendously. We recommend it highly.
Everything about this cottage is just perfect! Beautiful views of the water from every angle, well appointed kitchen with high end appliances and VERY comfortable beds made our four night stay here just wonderful. Addie answered my never ending questions very quickly. The decor reflects the area, and we enjoyed seeing all the local artwork. There are so many small touches that were so well thought out. We would recommend this cottage 100%!!

Beautiful home with every amenity you could ask for. Views from the home on Salt Harbour were spectacular. Host communicated well. Thoughtful extras like tea and coffee were provided. Fully equipped modern kitchen. Comfy beds upstairs. i bathroom down, beautifully modernized. Unfortunately the access to the property is treacherous during rainy conditions. Dirt road and falling rocks from hillside. 24 stairs down to the house with heavy luggage was challenging. Steep stairs to upstairs bedrooms. Be in good physical condition to enjoy this lovely home with gorgeous deck and views.
Wonderful property right by the water with lots of outdoor space to just sit and enjoy the spectacular water views. The location is quiet with a few houses along the water. Very quiet and peaceful during our 4-night stay. We enjoyed our time there. The kitchen is well equipped and we cooked a few meals there during our stay. The place is clean and one can see that the decor has been done thoughtfully. Our host, Addie, is very responsive and responds promptly to questions even before our stay. The place is about 15 minutes drive into Twillingate. A good place to stay if you want to be out of town at a beautiful location. We saw a seal, tern and bald eagle. The mist rolling in was beautiful. A very comfortable stay, good and firm beds, and good water pressure in shower. Keep in mind that this is an old, restored house so one of the quirk is squeaky stairs. :) Also, if you have mobility issues, there are quite a few steps down to the house. We would love to return for a longer stay!
