We had an excellent time. The facility itself was clean and comfortable. The breakfast served was restaurant quality. Nathan - our host was so helpful in suggestions for things to do and even hooked us up with a very last minute tour by making a phone call. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

Amazing stay

Amazing stay here while in Samara. Nice and quiet with the best view from above. Nathan and his dad were helpful experts who had great tips on where to go in Samara and Costa Rica. Would stay here again and recommend to anyone

You’ll love it!

Fantastic location in a quaint town with exceptional sea views. Beautiful casitas with everything you need to feel comfortable and relaxed. Great pool and rancho area as well as upper lounge for entertaining and watching monkeys! Nathan and his family were lovely hosts that created some delicious breakfasts options daily. We will return when back in town!

Really cool experience

We really enjoyed staying here. After booking primarily at traditional hotels through Costa Rica during our vacation, we thought it would be cool to try something different. Estrellas is more of a small boutique BnB with amazing views, deep in the Samara hills. Be prepared, I highly advise having a 4x4, we made the mistake of booking a sedan on our trip and deeply regretted it. Driving up to this lodge is a tad tricky, but would have been so much easier with a better vehicle. Nathan was great and provided us with good beach and kayak ideas, as well as fantastic breakfasts. He even had a friend pick up our dinner one night. I really admire what they’ve built up there in the hills above Samara, and I think it’s worth checking out on your trip. Side note, we also really liked the Samara area, it might have been our favorite on our trip.

Personal attention day and night from owner Nathan. He's everywhere when you need him, a truly caring and thoughtful host. Great views from the upper cabin and eating area. Make sure you have 4 wheel drive for the road that leads to this private lodge.

The owners are wonderful: warm, welcoming and kind. The views are spectacular, the rooms very clean and private, and the pool is lovely. Check in was very easy, and communication was excellent. The breakfast was delicious! Highly recommended.

5 stars for Las Estrellas de Samara!

We had the loveliest three night stay at Las Estrellas de Samara. The lodge is a 10min drive from Samara up a dusty and windy road (you will need a 4x4 to access the property). Once at the top you will be greeted by the most amazing view over Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo. The individual lodges are modern, comfortable, spacious and clean. Our hosts, Jean-Luc and Paolo, ensured throughout our stay that we had everything we needed and went as far as offering that we borrow a hammock to take with us to the beach which was a nice touch. Breakfast is made to order every morning - absolutely delicious (in particular the French crepes made by Jean-Luc himself).

We really enjoyed our stay here at Las Estrellas. The location is wonderful with an amazing view. I especially enjoyed being able to look onto the village below and listening to the schoolchildren sing and play soccer.

The establisment is fairly new. The owners and staff are very nice. The view is spectacular. There are two options of dirt roads to get there. They both are in horrible condition.

Wonderful hotel for peace and tranquility

we had an incredible time at Lodge las Estrellas de samara and wished we had stayed a few more days. The hotel is up away from the crowds of samara so it was very peaceful and the views are spectacular. Incredible sunsets every night and the hotel's name is appropriate since you can see so many stars on a clear everning- very romantic and since the hotel has few rooms available it's a very intimate setting which was perfect for our 25th wedding anniversary trip. the owner Jean Luc and his son Paolo were very friendly and helpful. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We went on an ATV excursion with Paolo up into the mountains for a sunset viewing and it was one of the highlights of our trip the views were amazing. Breakfast was delicious. The pool had beautiful views we spent a few sunsets swimming and enjoying the peace and tranquility of it. We are looking forward to going back very soon in the near future.

Absolutely Stunning

This location is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The views are breath taking. The owners are super nice and helpful if you have any questions about Samara. They also offer ATV tours which I highly recommend. Great place would def go back

Great view and quiet

Great place, nice view of the ocean, good breakfast. Quiet away from the town only a few kilometers down the hill. I would stay again. Pool is nice.

The property was absolutely beautiful, and only about 4 miles from the beach! The views from are incredible, as the whole property is on a hill. There was a delicious breakfast that was included in the stay every morning. When we walked in, we met the entire family and they were all so sweet! They made a heart out of rose petals on our bed for me and my girlfriend upon arrival. We also went on a sunrise ATV tour with the son of the property owners and this was incredible! We would love to come back here at some point!
