"It’s centrally located in San Clemente and you can easily walk to nearby restaurants and shops. It’s an older property but rooms are renovated and clean. I was visiting family that lives nearby so i didn’t need a lot of amenities but it’s close to the freeway so you will hear some noise. "

"Check-in was ok, attendant did not say much, go over all the charges or give great directions. Room was very 👍 nice. Separate bedroom, bathroom, living room and dining area. Plus Two murphy beds. The balcony was very large with table and chairs. Super deal for the price. Would stay here again. "

"The location is amazing, The room was clean, bigger than we expected and the staff was nice and welcoming. We will definitely be staying again!"

"First off, I want to say that the staff were very nice. The Casa Tropicana is fairly rundown, the tv didn’t work & that seem to be a problem in every room according to the other guests I spoke with. The flooring in the room we stayed in badly needed to be replaced. The bathroom faucet was very hard to turn on. The tile around the stairs was broken. The restaurant was closed and didn’t look like it was going to be reopened. The office was moved to a couple of buildings away and there was no sign telling you where to go to check in, I had to find 1 of the maintenance workers to tell me where to go. This is all too bad because we stayed there a few years before and then it was a nice place. "

"Wow! Couldn’t have picked a better place in San Clemente! Clean, comfortable, lovely beach decor, and…location, location, location. I sipped my morning coffee while looking out the kitchen window at the ocean. Tracy was a very good communicator and quick to respond to all my messages. I highly recommend."

"We’ve stayed here several times before and always enjoyed our visits, which made this experience even more disappointing. We arrived during a miserable cold wind and rainstorm and were relieved when the front desk told us our room was warm and ready. Unfortunately, when we walked in, we were hit with an overwhelming Pine-Sol smell that filled the entire room. If we opened the windows to air it out, we froze. If we kept them closed, we had to endure the strong chemical odor. We even lit a candle to try to mask the smell. To make matters worse, the room was absolutely freezing. The old wall heater showed that it was “on,” but no heat was coming out. We called the front desk multiple times and couldn’t reach anyone. Eventually, someone called back, and when we explained that we were freezing and the heater wasn’t working, we were told that the units are very old and don’t work well. We were instructed to use a small portable heater in the closet instead. We plugged it in, and just as it started to warm the area and we were all set up to play cards, it blew a fuse. The heater and all the lights went out. We tried calling the front desk again several times, but no one was available for the rest of the evening. We were stuck in the dark in a freezing room. This stay was extremely disappointing and we couldn’t wait to leave."

"Accommodations were roomy, clean, and the kitchen outfitted enough for simple meals. The staff was friendly, cheerful, and very helpful. Great location overlooking the beach across the street from the San Clemente Pier. Our unit had a view of the ocean. We liked the first night so much, we decided to stay another night. Note: unit did not appear to have air conditioning. Instead the windows opened and it had ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. We didn’t need it as the temperatures were pretty cool during our visit. "
