The property is beautiful. Would definitely give a "wow" factor to a lot of people. Big, spacious and lots to do pools wise. There are restaurants to choose from and letting you charge it to your room made so many potential obstacles easier. The gondola to the lower level of the resort was a fun thing for the kids to get to do and gave you a chance to see the awesome views of the various islands. The private island for swimming was a huge plus. It gave you a feel of going on vacation from your vacation and was a nice change up. Food at some of the places were better than others. Go with the Mexican outdoor bar food or the wood fire pizzas. The nachos were great. We would probably have ordered them more often had we tried them at the beginning of the trip.
Drawbacks - Some of the staff will completely ignore you even if you try to ask a question. I chalked it up to maybe a language barrier, but it really came at an akward time (we were trying to ask about making a reservation at one of the restaurants) and they proceeded to let Spanish speaking people cut in front and held a long conversation without acknowledging us. Being our last night it stood out to us.
The other item was they took our luggage at valet and said they would deliver it to our room since we were down on the lower portion of the resort. A huge win, but then they lost our luggage for several hours and after several calls, it was found.
Again, not the end of the world, but some things that could be better.
