“We loved Casa Verapaz. The caretaker Alfonso was great and communication with Julio was excellent. The views from the living area are truly breathtaking and accommodations are wonderful. Santa Catarina Palopó is a short walk down the hill and is a great little village. Our boys played soccer with the locals there and we bought fresh tortillas for breakfast. The tuk tuk ride to Pana was easy and affordable. If you are noise sensitive, know that the structure is shared so some noise does drift in……

“Overall, the place was nice and had everything I needed. They didn’t know I booked on Vrbo, but I think that was because it was their first time listing on it so were not used to checking it. Once they looked, everything was sorted out right away.Next to a indoor soccer gym so noises until around 11 PM, but then got quiet.”

“It is set out as a Luxury apartment but can't really qualify as such. It is nice, but quite noisy as it is right next to a restaurant with live music. Also quite smelly from all the restaurants' grey water just flowing into the lake outside the windows. The bathroom is also very damp with mold on the walls. Everything else was good though, and the hosts were very responsive.”

As it is part of a hotel, one can have all the amenities, like room service or a restaurant in-house, where one can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. In the lower ground floor there is also a bar. It is right on the lake, where one can swim. There is also a pool. It is a 5 min drive away from the town Panajachel, where again, one has a lot of shops and more restaurants.
