Great Location Choice

Overall we were very pleased. A bit smaller than we expected, as the dining room is the screened porch, and the laundry room is not in the unit but shared by at least four units. The location puts you within easy walking distance of a half dozen really good restaurants. The private beach is nice, with lots of lounge chairs and umbrellas if needed. Wonderful spot. Only suggestions we would make would be to upgrade the barstools, as they had no cushoning and you felt like you were sitting on a wood frame. Very uncomfortable. We want to stay longer next year and hope we can make that happen.

The beach and dock on the bay were perfect for walking, relaxing and fishing. We wish it were a little more affordable. We splurged as this was last minute as our cruise plans canceled. We usually plan things in advance and would love to come back, but at $500 for one night with the cleaning fee it would be out of our reach financially. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Longboat Key is so quiet and beautiful. It might not be ideal for those seeking to party or nightlife, but for us it was just perfect. Thank you.

Reported problems with all the TVs on day two nobody came to repair them let them know my dissatisfaction at check out and she said she’d pass the message on to the correct department. I have not received email or phone call from anyone.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: So you can get a perfect sunset at any LBK beach front property, but we like Beach Castles for the “Old Florida” feel. No high rise, no huge parking lot, no elevator!! This unit had been renovated but it needed a little attention: tub drain would not work properly & bath light had some strange flickering. I did let management know & they very promptly sent someone over but they were unable to fix. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, great grill right outside the unit, screened porch is a bit small. My biggest complaint: the sheets must come from a service-they we’re very rough. For the price paid, I would certainly expect cool, crisp cotton -but I’ll admit it -I’m a sheet SNOB. Membership at the CEDARS was huge plus for us bc we play tennis & Husband swims laps for fitness. Great benefit to access that club.

This was our first stay in unit 3. I was pleased to have a view of the water, being on the lower level. The unit could've stood a good cleaning. Sheets were sandy upon arrival, a used bandaid stuck to the bedroom mirror, dusty furniture, sandy countertops, and tables in the livingroom. This is the second time we've stayed (last was in 2021) that the shower curtain liner could've used replacing. I don't like the idea of a bathroom rug outside of the shower, I'd rather have a towel to lay down. The toliet is loose from the floor.The patio doors could stand to be replaced. very hard to open, as if they're not on track. There's also a cut in the screen in the lanai, so we got pretty bit up.We did survive hurricane Idalia in unit 3, though we were under a mandatory evacuation. We were trying to see if we'd get our money back, if we left given the mandatory evacuation, but no such luck. Happy we ended up staying, scary as it was. Luckily we never lost power!

Great beach trip!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second stay in Beach Castle #3 and we will be back! We love it! However, there are a few minor adjustments that could make stays better:1. The kitchen supplies need a refresh. It looks like the kitchen was properly stocked at one point, but that things have disappeared. For instance, there are only a few pots/pans and many lids with no matching pot. Also, there seem to be few forks but tons of butter knives and not enough medium or large bowls.2. There are not enough places to hang towels/wet bathing suits. I suggest adding over the door hooks on all of the doors (bed and bath), and at least one new towel rack per bathroom. In addition, a laundry drying rack or something similar to be kept on the screened in porch would be very helpful!3. The TV is not a smart TV, so we could not log into our streaming services. And, the TV seems to be an HD tv, but does not have an HDMI connection, so the picture quality is poor. 4. The lock is broken on the right sliding door to the patio from the den.

Horrible- do not stay here.

Not at all experience/ stay expected, especially for price. 1.) Units garbage disposal needs changed. Smells like horrible fish/ rancid smell. After host was contacted management company to address, they simply but garbage disposal tabs and thought would do the trick. Did not, and sink opening had to be covered whole stay. 2.) Mold around sink base, look like they tried to be covered up by white caulk. 3.) HVAC filter looked like it has not been changed in forever. Maintenance changed after requested, but could see nothing but dust in utility closed. I have pics for proof. 4.) Leaking faucets. 5.) Battery acid on x-box remotes which children touched. 6.) View is not desirable as you have to stand up to even see view. 7.) Guests upstairs were up well into middle of night, and constant noise. 8.) 1 washer/ dryer for 4 units, very loud, never cleaned inside. Had re-wash clothing when returned home. 9.) Patio very run down, and did not feel clean to sit outside. 10.) Overall would never ever stay at this place. Felt dirty, barely taken care of, and frankly a waste of money. Charge such as high rental for such a horrible unit. I read other reviews prior, and I suggest don't trust them. Seek elsewhere if you don't want to waste almost 3 grand for 4 nights.

A Wonderful Trip to Longboat Key

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The family stay here was perfect. Everything we needed was provided. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas, so don't bring any like I did. Everything was clean, we used the gas grill several times. The only bad thing we found was the swimming pool is small and the water was hot, but Beach Castle gave us a pass to the Tennis club 3 minutes away and they have an Olympic size pool that was very nice. All the guests were friendly, you start to meet on the beach. I would advise not to park under the trees, our car was full of ants from them falling out of the trees when the wind blew. We will defiantly stay here every time we come if there is a unit available. Randy at the office was very helpful every time we called with questions. Fishing was good of the dock. There is also a washer and dryer free in the building. That was a plus for us.

Dirty shower curtain in bathroom, kitchen although it looked updated was stocked with old and mismatched things like flatware glassware and older, low end appliances. Whole unit needs an update and refresh! Wanted to enjoy being in the unit but just put a damper on the trip. The Beach Castle resort was lovely as always but we will surely choose a different unit next time.

We were trying to see if we'd get our money back, if we left given the mandatory evacuation, but no such luck. Happy we ended up staying, scary as it was. Luckily we never lost power!
