Danish architecture and windmills create a European village feel in this charming wine country town. Explore bakeries for authentic aebleskiver pastries, then visit local tasting rooms where staff recommend perfect wine pairings.
Don't forget, the main season to go is Summer--most activities are available. Other times are spring and even fall. Winter has limited activities and shorter shop/restaurant hrs. Don't get me wrong, it's still worth going--just colder & less crowds.

This town feels like stepping into a fairytale. Tons of shops and dining. Nothing stays open too late so it's perfect for families. Just two miles away from Ostrichland which is a nice day trip to feed ostriches. Great for a short visit.

At Christmas it turns into a fabulous light show. Osteria Grappolo is a wonderful restaurant. Pickett Fences is a fun boutique for home decor and gifts. Unfortunately, many of the nice little shops have turned into wine tasting rooms.

Be sure to take a walk around the town. We visited the Hans Christian Andersen Museum (small and free), ate breakfast at a local diner, got chocolates at Ingebohr's, nd bought souvenirs at Rasmussen's gift shop. All highly recommended!

Solvang is one of our favorite places to visit for a charming getaway with lots of baked goods. Be aware that most places close around 5pm- even restaurants, so plan accordingly for dinner if you're staying overnight.

Lots of shops and restaurants. Very busy on the weekends, recommend booking dinner reservations. Interesting history. We took a food tour that offered lots of great food and local trivia.

I love this sleepy little town. The town is very clean, safe, walkable, and good wine tasting. Los Olivos, Santa Ynez, and Buelton are a few minutes away.

"I’m not sure what the VIP benefits is you speak of. Everything was wonderful. Right on top of pack for community weekly entertainment, and Farmers Market. Only 2 miles from new casino. And local to good eateries and services. "
