Beautiful, Clean Lodge!

We stayed the weekend and it was very clean and cozy. We had no issues with anything whatsoever, and the neighbors were very friendly! I would definitely stay here again!

Great weekend

Very nice comfortable stay! The place is huge and perfect for a big group. We loved sitting out back on the deck and by the fire. The location was awesome right next to a walking trail and the beach was so close and convenient!

Fantastic Cabin Getaway

The Black Moshannon Lodge was a beautiful and rustic place that we absolutely loved! It was a spacious, yet cozy lodge, and the fireplace really put out some heat. We were surprised about how big it was as well! We will definitely be staying there again in the future!

We had a group of 6 and we just loved it. The area is so beautiful and there’s so much to do. We spent the one day just relaxing at the cabin because it was so nice there.

Great stay as always!

The property is clean and has everything one could want for a weekend in the woods. We meet here once a year for an annual fly fishing trip. We used to go to the cabins in the park but as we have aged, we realized we really needed a hot tub 😂. Amazing!

We had a wonderful time. They have lots of bedding, towels, etc. Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals and is a nice size. Lots of space for activities and relaxing. Can't go wrong with this property.

Very nice place

We stopped camping last fall and wanted to spent time w extended family camping at black moshannon state park. Close to park and beach. Log cabin is very spacious. Enjoyed hot tub in evening for some quiet time. Beds are comfortable. No cell service, but we were OK w that. We would definitely recommend.

Hang out with my freshman friends!

This is the PERFECT location for you (out of state) to take your Penn State kid and his/hers friends for a weekend getaway. Its about a 30-minute drive from PS, and has no internet (great to connect nowadays), lots of trails, water, kayaks, hot-tup, great sky, lots of space to play and others. As per my kid and friends' comments, they had a weekend to remember in this place and for sure we will be back!

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the lodge. For a gathering with friends that included a couple children, this was a perfect place. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable and the huge dining room table, deck, and firepit were perfect for our group. One thing that I didn't plan for was the lack of cell service -- it was actually nice to be out of reach but I did have to drive to find service in order to pull up the door code to check-in, should have planned for that. Otherwise it was a smooth stay and we'd definitely come again!

We were in town for the Penn State White out, the lodging was about 30 minutes away. The accomodations were clean and too much room for the 3 of us. We didn't take advantage of the trails nearby, fire pit, or hot tub but everything was in great shape.

One nit, no WiFi. Direct TV was great. We were able to watch the Pittsburgh Sports Network. Spacious, clean, comfortable with a fully equipped kitchen. Nice to have the linens and towels included too. Deck in the back had a picnic table, 4 Adirondack chairs, grill and a hot tub! Rain kept us from using the Firepit though. Firewood was not provided but you can buy some right across the street. Will be staying there again!

Great home away from home

The lodge was spacious and very clean. Comfortable bed. Good water pressure. Rustic with a lot of conveniences like a dishwasher, microwave, etc. Nice to have a hot tub to smooth those muscles after hiking, biking and kayaking! There’s a state park trail out past the fire ring that takes you to the lake where the kayak is moored. I’d say it’s at least a mile. Good to get the park map of the trails and explore! The state park pontoon ride is great, too. A naturalist tells you about the beaver, etc. as you cruise the lake.

Great rental to enjoy local activities or have a gathering of friends!

Overall we were REALLY happy with our stay. The comfortable living area, large dining space, and semi-secluded rear deck with a hot tub were the highlights of our visit. At home we enjoy 2 baths and a king size bed, so those were missed - but there were plenty of single-size beds to sleep in along with two couches and a futon. We had guests over for dinner Saturday evening and found the kitchen, pots, pans, and utencils supplied to be sufficient. I took my own crockpot. No paper towels were supplied - so next time, I'll remember to bring my own. I really appreciated the "Cheapy Tupperware" (aka: used & washed butter containers, cottage cheese containers, etc.) that were provided - when staying at a rental, I rarely remember to bring storage containers to take home leftovers, so that was a nice touch for me personally. Compared to other rentals we've had, we thought this place was a bit pricey for a single bath, two bedroom... but it's tough to find something in this area, so there aren't many options and I didn't feel it was WAY overpriced... I suppose it's "location, location, location"! If the opportunity arises, we’ll be back!

We absolutely loved this place!! The kids missed the Wi-Fi but it gave us more quality time. The kids were able to go spotting at night which they love. We did our Thanksgiving and Christmas and they had it all decorated for Christmas which was just so perfect. Would definitely recommend and go back next year!!

Better than pictured!

Check in was easy, there’s updated Adirondack chairs on back deck and extra comfortable sofas in the living room. The lodge itself is so spacious and is perfect for a family gathering! Clean and perfect location for fishing, boating, and swimming in the state park.
