Love the neighborhood the hotel is located in. It's quiet and feels up-market. Free underground parking and decent buffet breakfast. The gym looked awesome but I was too tired to use it. There is also some restaurants and bar that open till late, and a Carrefour located in the same building as the hotel.

This is a very nice hotel and also an excellent value. Although it’s not centrally located in Taipei, I found it very easy to get to and from the hotel via mass transit. Also it was a great jumping-off place to get to hiking trails in Yangmingshan National Park. I just jumped in a taxi and was there in minutes. Mellow Fields was a very pleasant surprise!

Hotel staff were generally very helpful and polite. I was disappointed by the breakfast as there was little for non-Asian guests. Toast, cold eggs (very soft boiled) and empty platters of fruit. The “restaurant” only had large round tables for 8 people-not ideal for solo travellers. There was nowhere to change/freshen up for a late flight and no late check-out. No safe in the rooms so be mindful of any valuables you may have. There is a small fridge which was very useful. Bed was very comfy, and the black-out curtains much needed. There were small flying creatures in the bathroom until I purchased a plug-in. They were not mosquitoes. The carpets in the corridors are rather tired and when the elevator doors open there is an awful unwelcoming smell.

Mellow Field Hotel was by far the most comfortable hotel with the similar price rage that we stayed in Tienmu area. We liked the balcony so we can step out of our room and enjoyed the mountain view and fresh air. The Chinese/Taiwanese breakfast buffet was delicious. A simple salad bar and bread with butter & jam were also provided. The only disappointment is that the gym was open between 3 pm and 8 pm, not a 24-hour facility. We preferred to go to the gym in the morning and we were out sightseeing during the day. The operating hours of the gym was not practical. But overall, we were satisfied with our stay.

A place to stay but nothing else good.
Checkin was smooth and easy. The room had uneven floors and flying bugs in the bathroom. The “king” bed was two singles pushed together with a hard edge in the middle. They gave you 1 pillow each and they smelled bad and were not comfortable. The breakfast buffet only had 2 fruit options and very limited vegetable options. I’m glad we only had to stay 1 night here.

Great choice if you familiar with the location and know how to take bus. Great breakfast with many items to select but most Taiwanese style and local favorites, great service too Good room with great view with Yangming mountain Great ROI for dollars you spent specially if you know Tianmou area

The wall between rooms is thin. We can hear noise from neighbor rooms. Wish the sound insulation could be better. Other than that, everything is fine and we enjoyed a lot.

It is an old hotel and thus some renovation will be appreciated. However, we do appreciate the details that the hotel looks into to make us as comfortable as possible - towels, toothbrush, good shower facilities, comfortable bed, etc - were provided. We appreciated the approachable service staff too. Definitely not a hotel about luxury, but the basics are well taken care of and pretty comfortable. Hotel is also next to a supermarket and within walking distance to the restaurants and shopping malls. Thus I would say the location is pretty good.

Very clean and secure. Good free breakfast buffet. Could add a microwave and/or small frig to store/cook some food. Internet speed was good. One more chair in the room will be better.

Hotel hallways were dirty. Carpet needs to be replaced as it makes the whole hotel feel dirty. Old toothbrush left in shower which means the cleaners where not cleaning out rooms well when guests leave.

very friendly and cozy, practical hotel. We been stayed in this hotel over the past 6-8 years whenever we visit Taipei. But this time, the hotel cleanliness seems bit run down.. pillow need to change toilet need to have better clean when u out from lift to restaurant, the smile is unpleasent ..

It is old hotel but they are now renovation floor to floor. I like to stay this hotel when I travel to Taipei. They need to work on a lot of improvement. Hope It will make me to feel better on my next visit.

i got into a huge fight w my non-gf gf but the hotel was nice. when i woke up i stepped on my girls strapless bra, i basically stepped on her tit. shiii was crazy wud recommend to teenagers tryna become teenage parents.

Nothing to write home about....
I booked this Hotel since I had an appointment near that location. Other than that, there is not much to do/shop/dine in the vicinity of the hotel. It was a bit strange that there was no safe in the Room to store your passport or valuables so I had to carry them around with me all the time which was not so convenient. Room itself was clean and spacious enough. The breakfast was a bit of a letdown. I had to wait until they restocked plates and cups and cutlery. When they had restocked some of it, the food selection certainly targeted Asian customers rather then western clients. In the end I had a hard boiled egg a slice of toast and a coffee (without milk). Orange Juice was out, when they refilled it the juice was out again after 2 minutes. Next day I skipped breakfast all along and had a noodle soup somewhere else. Probably will look for other options next time around.
