  • Q Square mall-- not exactly a tourist destination (there are many malls in Taipei) but it's a nice mall located close to Taipei Main station (Metro/MRT) if you're looking to escape the heat. Huge food courts here too with lots of options (and obviously shopping). This mall also has a movie theatre, which shows mostly American movies (but cheaper). It's also about a 10-15 walk to the historic Dihua street, one of the oldest areas of the city which was once the main market area (still lots of interesting shops there that cater to the local...good photo opps too with some older buildings)

Staff was very friendly. Location was convenient for me as I had to catch a HSR. It’s the building next to Exit M8 for Taipei Main Station. Need a access key or code to bring you up to the 7th floor Got free coffee machine using the property’s cups.

The location is great and the room was comfortable and quiet. But the toilet simply didn't work. It's plainly an ongoing issue: there were special instructions on the adjacent walk, but following them made no difference. Won't get specific here, but it was quite unpleasant and we were glad that we were there for just one short night.
