During a recent business trip, due to the absence of a nearby InterContinental hotel, I chose the Holiday Inn Express Jacksonville South Bartram Park (13934 Village Lake Circle, Jacksonville, FL 32258) for a two-night stay from March 20 to March 22, 2025, trusting the IHG brand. “Had a issue with our 1st room the door wouldn't lock but they quickly moved us to another room. The water pressure in the shower seemed kinda weak and my wife was awakened by by ants crawling in the bed they were on the floor as well”

“The rooms are in need of a major upgrade. Room on 1st floor reeked of mildew. Exhaust fan in the bathroom was inoperable. The ceiling had been painted over multiple times indicating this is not a new problem. There was not a single hook in the bathroom for a towel, hand towel or robe. The area of town was a bit sketchy. The decor was outdated- beat up wooden doors, carpeted baseboards, old shower head, etc. Silas at the front desk was nice & accomodated my request for another room. Breakfast was……

“The advertised breakfast buffet is $11.99 per day per person. The posted hours are 6:30-9:30. We arrived at 9am. No plates, no napkins, no bacon, no cups, no mixed fruit. A few pieces of breakfast meats that appeared to have been sitting a while. No biscuits and gravy. The cooked foods were all about gone, and it appeared that they were more focused on finishing up the breakfast for 9:30 rather than bringing out more foods for those of us who came later in the morning . We voiced our displeasure……

“I arrived late, around 2:00 AM, and unfortunately the check-in experience was underwhelming. The receptionist was very quiet and provided little to no information about the hotel, amenities, parking, or general stay details. The parking situation was also unclear, as guests are required to park behind the marketplace area with minimal guidance. The exterior approach and main entrance were relatively clean and well-maintained; however, the elevator was noticeably dirty and worn, and the foyer……

“I booked through Expedia about 2 weeks in advance ( May 25, 2026 ) our reservation were for June 9, 2026 - June 13, 2026. WHY would someone Not reach out and INFORM us of CONSTRUCTION happening at this particular site !!! Horrific. The staff members were nice and accommodating BUT THE NOISE NOISE NOISE. Machine noise starts early, elevator are BUSY. 2 elevators ( 1 marked for construction use ) and that particular elevator seem to be the ONLY one we could ever catch. Our last day there I was……

“One room had a funny smell but overall great stay”

“Everyone and Everything was excellent. Extremely clean. At one point it smelled in the hallway on second floor as if a customer had smoked marijuana in the room. The staff put an air purifier in the hall and it made a great difference. This was my first time staying in an AC hotel and I love it. It has become one of my favorites.”
