"2nd stay. Home is beautiful."

"First of all, the room as well as the bathroom were dirty. The sink was used and filthy and there was food (olive and crumbs) under the bed which was disgusting. Unfortunately there is no personnel on site to attend to. We were there for just a weekend and it was my husband's birthday so we didn't have time to figure out how we should address our complaints immediately. Furthermore, the entire house was extremely cold and the guests are not able to adjust the temperature! We were freezing at night and it felt so uncomfortable that we decided to depart one day earlier than intended. Before we wrote this review, we sent an email, politely explaining the situation and asking for some sort of refund. However, the answer clearly showed that nobody even read our email properly and how they declined the refund was totally irrelevant to our complains. Last but not least, this is not a hotel! It is an old and tired house that hasn't been updated in decades. "

"We loved everything about this house! It was a pleasure staying here. We come up to this area all the time and have difficulty finding good places. We will be staying here for any future visits to the river! 10/10 experience! "

"Doug and Terri do an outstanding job of making the Mermaid Shack feel like home. Place is immaculate, and they even have coffee availale ! They are available for any questions or if you need anything. Home is close to stores and restaurants. We enjoy the Bay"

"Just was great with responding quickly. Cabin was great but the sleeper sofa needs to be replaced. Otherwise everything was great!"

"The property was clean, comfy and the decor was super cute. Being right on the river was great, we were able to dock our boat and enjoy the river daily. The slide off of the dock was fun for the kids, fenced area was perfect for our dog! "

Being on the water and seeing these gentle giants up close was such a special experience and made the stay unforgettable.Piper loved the trip too—she enjoyed exploring the space and relaxing with me after our adventure. The property felt welcoming and safe, which is always important when traveling with a small dog.We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, nature-filled getaway with easy access to kayaking and wildlife experiences!"

"Absolutely ruined our vacation we had planned for over 2 months. This house does NOT sleep 20 unless you have 8-10 people on the floor. Number and size of beds is NOT correct. Extremely disappointed in this host and the fact they just brushed it off as if it was our fault...They they falsely reported that the cancellation was due to my age not being of age...which is 100% FALSE....I am 43 yrs old and that is not the case. I suggest renters stay away from this place as I couldnt image what else they lied about in their listing. RENTER BEWARE"
