Vacation in March

February Stay

The house is very nice. This is on the far north side of The Villages with many conveniences close by. The furniture and towels etc could be improved. The golf cart is nice to have, but you have to bungee cord the golf clubs in it in order not to lose the clubs on the street. It is what makes this a good place to rent and not a great place to rent.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was clean and location great. An outdoor grill would have been nice. The furniture has a lot to be desired. The futon is awful to sleep on. We had visitors that were passing through but got an hotel because futon was so bad. If going to rent as an 3 bedroom at this price, they should have a decent bed. All visitors complained about the living room furniture. They talked about bringing in the lawn chairs. Everything else was great. Don’t mean to complain but those things could definitely be improved on.

most uncomfortable place ever

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: so second time we rented this place and it's our fault for coming back. We talked to the property management company about all the shortcomings we thought the owner would put forth some effort.....but to our surprise things were just terrible. The furniture...the bed....the patio furniture are the most uncomfortable stuff you could ever put in a place. Like how could the owner stand being in the place...we have thought about buying a place in the villages and renting it and would NEVER...NEVER...let our guests have to endure that type of misery. Its just a really lousy place...expensive and just lacking is all aspect. DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE....there so many better places to be had. The folks at Down home rentals were great and attentive to our complaints but their hands were tied by the owner. Golf cart....the straps are so worn that they will not hold a golf bag so had go bungee them on....told them about it last year and of course never fixed it. Do you know have inexpensive that is to fix that? Had to buy a pad to add to the master bed because it was sagging so much....and when we took the mattress pad off.......the bad was so stained it was unbelievable. I'LL SAY IT NOT RENT THIS PLACE.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Have been renting in the villages for 3 years and this was a new location and rental agency. Loved the property and it's location. It's as north as you can get but there plenty of things to do and the square is not that far away on the golf cart which was a very good 4 seater. The cart needs new straps for the bags but overall it was a really good cart compared to others we have rented. Overall the property was really good....there are some furniture issues that need to be addressed and hopefully the owner will respond. The management company addressed any issues we had and they are all great people to work with. It was well stocked and clean. It is close to 42 so getting anywhere was really easy.

Up north location - great TVs!!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: One could say the furniture, furnishing, and kitchen items were well loved or one could say the furniture, furnishing, and kitchen items were old and used. We did enjoy the large TV in the living room and the TV programming was exceptional. However, the chairs were very uncomfortable and the living room carpet needed cleaned.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall a good experience. The location was great but it is as far north in The Villages as you can go. We loved that as it was peaceful, not as much traffic and close to lots of shopping, grocery stores, restaurants and Spanish Springs Town Square. The house is spacious with a nice lanai and patios. The general condition of this property is pretty good. The fall backs of the Kathy Loop property to us are the following:1. No outdoor grill2. Living room furniture that is very uncomfortable and should have been replaced long ago. When you stay for several months in a rental home at this price per month, you expect furniture to be comfortable. Only the recliner was usable.3. Their house phones are plugged in and ring several times a day and there are messages left on them. We found this very annoying in a rental. We did not turn them off as we were not sure about the owners as to if they were still picking up messages on them since they live out of state.4. Only 5 dining chairs5. Pans in kitchen need to be updated or replaced. Several had the Teflon coating totally scratched off (DHP did replace a saucepan) or were rusted through. 6. Towels in the Master bath were stiff and smelly. We even found wet towels folded and put back in that closet. DHP sent someone out with fresh towel sets. 7. Not enough hangers or ones there were left from clothing purchases. We bought a box of 50 plastic hangers and left them.The TV’s and viewing packages were great. Bottom line....we could deal with most things in the house but the green leather 3 piece sofa, couch and chair need to go!!!

Awesome!

To be honest we were a bit overwhelmed the first couple days, but The Villages rep, from whom we picked up our IDs, was VERY helpful with getting us set up with The Villages App. The two things we liked most about this rental was 1) having a gas powered golf cart (because electric golf carts won't get you far) and 2) having resident IDs (which allowed us more privileges than guest IDs would have). We quickly realized these two things are a MUST when staying at The Villages. Well, actually three...The Villages App is a must too! We had a great time touring around on the golf cart and participating in all the various activities available to us with Resident IDs. We would highly recommend this rental!

The fold down bed in the office was very comfortable. Surprised that Down Homes didn’t check in at least once a month to ensure our needs were being met. Pool and mail box were very convenient.

Home clean, location very quiet and friendly. Great access to all squares.Down home properties mgmt was very inefficient in handling property key pickups and drop offs. Because of their miscommunication they caused us inconvenience and lost time that is super important if you're traveling long distances.I would stay and recommend this property again.

A Fun And Exciting Place to Vacation.

It has every activity you could possibly want, such as Beach volley ball, kyacing, dancing at the town square, theater, Golf at the Nancy Lopez country Club Or perhaps you are a big fan of Arnold Palmer to name just a few of the courses. Book now, you have to see it too believe. A vacation you do not wat to miss. Come and see it to believe it.

Mixed review from stay at 9076 SE 166th Kathy Loop

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I will list my experience as simply as possible without deciding who is to blame.1. The golf cart was not functional and remained so for three days. I put in brake fluid ad water, but did not have tools to repair battery connections.2. The furnishings were from the 1950's. Were very uncomfortable and not structurally sound.3. Kitchen was poorly supplied and many pots and pans were worn thru the coatings to bare metal. Thus many were not serviceable.4. 2nd bedroom bed had broken particle board between mattress and pad and 2x4's under mattress to strengthen the apparently broken box springs.5. Down Home personell came out three times for golf cart and washing machine. They were very Professional, knowledgeable and helpful.6. The unit was less than a year old, but the location was so remote. We could not really rely on the golf cart to go any distance. Some service personnel could not locate the site on the first attempt.Generally,the house was very nice ,including the decorating, but the furniture left much to be desired.We only rented for one month, so I expected to pay more, but really feel this unit was over priced.
