"Golfers - don' be fooled by the Expedia listing that says it's a 7 minute walk to the Cabo del Sol golf course. Technically, you could probably reach the course by foot in 7 minutes. To do that, you would have to climb a fence and cross a construction zone just to reach one of the outer holes on the course. If you want to actually get to the clubhouse, it's about a 10-15 minute taxi/Uber ride. Also, the chip and putt course located on the property looks very nice, but is not included in the all-inclusive package. It's an extra $50 per play."

"The place is beautiful, but they do not communicate before you book that you won’t have access to the restaurants all the time. One of the key restaurants we wanted to visit was Almar. It was a deciding factor in choosing this location and they didn’t have it open any of the days they say they would. The Reserve is worth it, but they also close Sante (reserve only ) some nights without notice."

"Our stay was nice overall, but the dinner situation was unnecessarily complicated. Due to the weather, staff rescheduled our reservation at Boca Steakhouse. Unfortunately, one hostess was extremely unprofessional, insisting we had no reservation despite it being rebooked by your staff. She made no effort to help, leaving us hungry and frustrated until another hostess stepped in. I wish I had gotten her name so management could address the situation. We paid for an all-inclusive experience, and we expected better service and a more accommodating approach."

"Our stay at Grand Velas was truly top-notch! Right from the start, the pre-travel concierge made planning effortless. Once we arrived, our onsite concierges, Atenas and Santiago, took incredible care of us—their attentive, friendly service made us feel completely spoiled throughout the whole trip. The staff across the property are so warm and welcoming, and the resort is impeccably clean. As vegetarians, we were super impressed by the food options! Dining at an all-inclusive as vegetarians can be hit or miss, but Grand Velas went above and beyond with delicious vegetarian options at almost every spot. The only disappointing experience was at Frida's —the food was average and the service was just okay (we told our waiter we were vegetarian and he proceeded to tell us about the most popular dishes, none of which were vegetarian! Every other dining experience was flat-out amazing! Definitely recommend the tasting menu at the Michelin star restaurant Cocina de Autor! Also, do not skip the spa! The water ceremony is an absolute must—seriously, make sure you do it. The rooms are huge, super comfortable, and come with gorgeous ocean views and well-stocked amenities. Overall, we had an unforgettable vacation. Highly recommend Grand Velas to anyone looking for a fabulous getaway, and we will definitely be coming back!"
