“I was unaware of the stairs to get to the rooms. I was given a room on the 2nd floor and there was no elevator to use to bring all of my luggage. The night before checkout, I called the front desk to ask if an Uber would be able to pick me up at 4:30 am and would be allowed onto the premises. I was told that I should have the pickup be the clubhouse and I could have a tram arranged to pick me up at 4:00 am. When I called at 4:00 am on the morning of checkout, I was told that the tram drivers……

“Howard Johnson goes back a long time. Always like the old world charm of the 50’s and 60’s styling. Only one small quirk was my shower knob did not work and it was broken. Fortunately it was stuck on a reasonable temperature to shower and used it as that. Breakfast was quite meager, very small lounge and limited food choices. But I assume it’s because of the limited space that had there. Overall it was alright and would go there again since my beach location in Clearwater was all but overbooked.……

“Overall I initially had a pretty good impression of the hotel and enjoyed the stay at first. However, around 1 AM, I found a cockroach in the kitchen eating my snacks, and then found more cockroaches near the bedroom door, in the bathroom, by the kitchen sink, and in the closet. Unfortunately this made me very uncomfortable and concerned about the cleanliness of the room. “It was a very clean hotel. The rooms are large. There is only one chair in each room which was strange to me since the rooms are so large and I would think it’s common to have 2 people staying in a room. Since we were Expedia customers they were less flexible about a late check out or early check out and our room was just off lobby so was loud at times. They have laundry which is awesome. Overall our stay was pleasant. The manager was very nice.”
