"The Pelican Grand Beach Resort might be the best-kept secret in South Florida. We’ve stayed here about eight times in the past two years, including celebrating our son’s fourth birthday and our daughter’s second, and somehow we love it more every time. Yes, the location is unbeatable. There are so few hotels where you’re actually on the beach side of A1A, directly on the sand. And yes, my kids are obsessed with the zero-entry pool, the ice cream parlor, and the beach. And OCEAN2000 is genuinely a good hotel restaurant. But honestly, none of that is really why we keep coming back. It’s the people and the energy. There is such a positive, welcoming feeling here that you genuinely feel like you’re staying at a relative’s home or your own beach house. Marc at valet always makes arriving feel like coming home. Daniel is quite possibly the kindest and most thoughtful waiter I have ever met. Giovana at the pool takes amazing care of everyone. Olishia at the front desk is wonderful. The amazing woman who runs the kids’ activities makes the families feel not just entertained but included. And then there’s John on the beach, who somehow delivers the weather report, and incredible beach service vibes all at once. These are the people who turn a beautiful hotel into a place people feel emotionally connected to. My husband, my kids and I are completely obsessed with this place. And everyone we’ve recommended it to has become obsessed too. We call it our “Edificio Amarillo.”"
