Grand Canyon Railway Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Rooms were very clean. Beds were too soft. Staff was excellent and friendly. Check-in was very quick and easy. I would offer at least a continental breakfast because the price of the Fred Harvey Restaurant is a little on the expensive side for a buffet. Parking at the hotel was good and safe."

"It was the best hotel we stayed at in the last 3 weeks of travel over there 10 hotels we were in. Others were Best Western Plus and BW regular hotels. It had a slightly lower price for the night of 5/23/2026 Saturday night of memorial day weekend in Williams Gateway to Grand Canyon at $297.42 for a King. All prices for hotels were double normal prices and many all booked. The Best westerns were sold out or even more expensive. But the La Quinta was across from an RV camp ground. But it was quiet and well kept. It also had a well addendum and quit good free breakfast and was still putting food out at 20 minutes to shutdown for breakfast which was at 9am. Most of the 9 BW I went to during this vacation were poorly staffed, had less than hot food and closed early and were out of eggs sausage. But still had waffles you could make yourself but I can't do carbs like that. The hotel was the best we stayed at and I will be staying at more LA Quinta's on my next trip. Staff was friendly including house cleaning and everything worked and we had enough power outlets for our chargers and CPAP machines. Also It is just a short distance from downtown historic Route 66 Williams and the nightlife was hopping that Saturday. Nice town. Most historic route 66 towns we went through were run down with only a few exceptions. This was one of those exceptions. I wish we had more time to spend there. And the Day at the Grand Canyon was awesome! It is massive. Bigger than I thought."

"This boutique hotel is in a great location right downtown! It is an older building so don’t expect spit-spot clean. The staff was welcoming. The common areas are well appointed and inviting but our personal room was extremely small without even a closet, and amenities were a bit lacking. The breakfast was described as a pastry breakfast, and offered a variety of crumbcakes and sweet roll. It was a fun experience."

"No staff at the counter when we arrived at the hotel. When we rang the bell, the staff came and asked angrily, "who rang the bell?" This is ridculous, a lodger would certain seek help to check in when he arrives at the hotel. The room is very small. We could hardly move in the room. There was only one chair. There was no hair dryer. The breakfast had only toast and cereal, no yogurts, no fruit. The coffee tasted nothing like coffee."
