The Space:

Ridgestone is very pleased to bring to you, Poole Brae, a beautifully presented four-bedroom detached home, perfectly positioned above Lake Windermere with panoramic views across the water and surrounding fells. Just a short walk from the center of Bowness-on-Windermere, this stylish property blends traditional Lakeland character with modern comfort—offering a peaceful family retreat in the heart of the Lake District.



Inside, the house features spacious and thoughtfully designed interiors, including an open-plan kitchen and dining area fitted with sleek cabinetry, Corian worktops, and high-spec integrated appliances. Glass doors lead directly out to a large patio terrace, ideal for outdoor dining, with a private hot tub and uninterrupted views of the lake—an idyllic space for relaxing after a day exploring.



Across three floors, there are multiple living areas, including a bright first-floor lounge with log-burning stove, surround sound system, mood lighting, and access to a private balcony. Each of the four bedrooms is generously sized, with calming décor and scenic outlooks; several enjoy direct lake views. Bathrooms are finished to a high standard, including spa-style en-suites and a freestanding bath positioned to take in the surrounding landscape.



The gardens are beautifully landscaped and carefully tended, with a mix of sheltered seating areas and elevated viewpoints. Whether enjoying a morning coffee or watching the stars come out over the lake, the outdoor space makes the most of its spectacular setting.

The Neighborhood:

Poole Brae is located just outside the bustling town of Bowness-on-Windermere, offering easy access to the best of the Lake District while remaining peaceful and private. From the doorstep, scenic walks lead through Ghyll Head and Black Beck Woods, with nearby trails to Winster and Crosthwaite. Bowness, a 15-minute walk away, is home to a wide range of cafés, restaurants, pubs, and independent shops, as well as the Windermere Lake Cruises pier for boat trips to Ambleside and Lakeside.



Getting Around:

Windermere train station is around a 10-minute drive and connects directly to Oxenholme (on the West Coast Main Line), making travel to Manchester, London, and Glasgow straightforward. Local bus routes also run frequently from Bowness and Windermere, with stops a short walk from the property, giving guests flexible options for exploring the surrounding area without a car.



Other Things to Note:

Poole Brae is set over three floors with internal staircases; it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. Children are welcome, though parents should be aware of the open staircase and multi-level outdoor areas!
